Very first coaster

My first coaster was The Scooby Doo at King's Island (a.k.a. The Beastie), when I was 4. I was immediately hooked, and rode it until my dad got sick...these days, he can't even look at coasters without feeling dizzy. It's one of my best memories of my dad and I, and it is about the only thing I distinctly remember about being 4 years old. It was also my son's first coaster...I think a family tradition has been created!
my first coaster was the big dipper or the corkscrew not quite sure but that was at what was then geauga lake and now sfwoa
mine is the same as sfogeorgia's except im not sure if i rode mine train before GASM or vice versa, I was way to little to remember. After riding GASM at SFoG as a small child I was frightened of coasters until i rode Ninja at SFoG while it was still smooth. My family and friends cant get me off coasters ever since.
Mine was the Scooby-Doo at King's Dominion in 1978.  I was 7 and scared to death.

i'm very proud to say that my very first coaster was a night ride on the beast in 1989.  it is still my favorite roller coaster.  there's just something about that ride.

My first coaster ride was in 1962 at a now defunct park in Michigan called Walled Lake.  My parents used to go there when they were dating.  Anyway, I don't remember the name of the woodie, but I DO remember flying above the seat the entire time and it scared me to death.

Funny...that's what I LOVE about coasters now.

Im going to say that I think my first coaster was the little dipper coaster at Strickers Grove's old location in Mt. Healthy OH.

Hey CPLady,

I used to live in Walled Lake!!! Unfortunately, the town doesn't have anything in the way of old history about the park. Knowing some of the old fogeys on the board, they were probably happy to see it go. When sitting in planning meetings for our church, the board even poo-pooed a bowling alley with video games, for crying out loud. They said it would "create truancy problems with the youth". ACK!!!

BTW, my first was Gemini (Blue Side) at CP. I closed my eyes on the first drop out of sheer terror, but came away hooked!

Later,

Its either the kiddie coaster at defunct Wagon Wheel Park in Oxnard, CA, or the Matterhorn at Disneyland. I rode both as young as 3 years old.
