Vertical Velocity, or V2 as it's called, opened at Six Flags Great America to rave reviews. One guest of the media event had 40 rides by noon.

Read more about it from The Daily Herald.

I have been on S:UE, and I like V2 better. It's faster, the brakes hold for longer, and it seems like the whips are faster.

How do you figure? Goes Faster? SAME SPEED.

Holds longer? SAME HOLD.

Ride S;UE again and see how its differant......
I can see how you like V2 better. The scenery, The location over water. But when you start saying its faster and stuff like that, its not true. They both go 70mph. So dont say stuff, and dont exagerate (sp?) They are the EXACT same Ride@!
I was there yesterday. It rained so much. Well, while it was raining and everyone thought they were getting such a good deal on V2, only waiting 10 minutes, I went on Batman 20 times in a row! I never got off. There was absolutely no line. After 20 times, I was so cold and my face was so sore from all the rain that I ran to a bathroom and poured hot water all over myself. I rode V2 5 times yesterday, so I have ridden it 6 times now. I don't remember S:UE being as good as V2. I wish I could have gone to media day.

Superman: It was probably the rain. I saw V2 running earlier (this was dry) and it wasn't getting as far up the tower as it did with the rain. I'm guessing that was it.

It's coming...
I rode V2 yesterday in pouring rain and the line was 5-10 minutes. It was great, I got 8 rides in.
K, im getting diffrent answers from everyone about when Daja Vu will be open!!! Does any one have any clue, one person yesterday says it open yesterday and another says it will be open in like 1-2 weeks and another says 2-3 mounths!!! When is it going to open, does anyone have pictures or something? Tell me when its opening?
Hi why are you reporting that it opened on the 24th. I went there on the 21st and when i pulled up to the park and I saw V2 going. At first i thought they were just testing it because the sign at the gate said it would be closed. But as I satred walking to it i saw legs and i knew people were on it. So i went to the que line and i got in line. Id have to say that my 4 rides on V2 was the highlight of my day. But if i was a coaster club member i would be pretty upset that i didnt get a chance to ride it first and a bunch of school kids did. Thats what i think and i cant wait to ride DejaVU.
I walked by Deja Vu yesterday, and there is still some construction going on. The track is all done, and I think the work is being done on the station. Also, there are no trains on the site yet, so it may be a while. I'm going to predict mid-June for a media day.

Vertical Velocity first opened on Firday, May 18. I was there when they made the announcement that it was open (around 3:00). There was a rather lengthy line (1.5 hours or so), but it was WELL worth the wait. Also, that day I rode American Eagle with a ride op and I asked him about Deja Vu, and he said that they were aiming to open it around June 24. I've also heard of a derailment on the Deja Vu in Georgia, and if this was true, it could set back the opening of ours, bummer.
Ok..... well, I just got back from SFWoA (which I went to yesterday) and I rode S:UE 5 times.

On the way home today, we stopped @ SFGAm, and rode V2 once. It seemed EXACTLY the same. The water contrubutes a little for the 'scareness' factor, but seemed like the same, GREAT ride :)

Now, to add 11 coasters onto my track record :)
