Vegas and Desperado Questions.....

desperado uses points BTW, at least when i went two times ago and rode just a few times (you can share points Between ppl). i don't see why there would be a discount after riding desperado for manhattan express. Call 702-740-6615 to speak with an attractions relations officer to check out prices, discounts.

To disagree with a few of the posters on this board, and keeping in mind that everyone has their own opinion, I still find that Desperado was a fantastic coaster. It didn't exactly live up to my expectations (due to such a heavy block brake), but noneoftheless, it is a MUST for any coaster fan. Its just incredible. The ride is definatly in my top 15 steel favorites. Long live Arrow Dynamics!

I couldn't agree more! Long live the big "D" and Arrow! You have to ride it!

coastingohio said:How much do you get off on Manhatten if you ride Desperado before it and keep your ticket?

When I was there last week our Desperado ticket stub got buy one ride get one free for Manhatten Express.

I love Vegas here's my input-

Canyon Blaster- great, smooth, indoor coaster that delivers a good punch. $5 to ride, or $19 to get all day pass at the Adventuredome (recommended)

Manhatten Express- didn't ride it, looks fun, but it's $10, and I haven't heard a lot of good things from it. But you can get a buy one get one free admission ticket from a desperado ticket.

Speed- awesome launch coaster, fee is $8 for back2back rides.

High Roller- not worth it IMO, pretty boring, I think it's $5 to ride not including the tower admission.

Big Shot- biggest rush I've ever had on any ride, if you are in Vegas, YOU NEED TO RIDE THIS. but you must ride it at night, it's about 100 times better at night than in the day. Admission is I think $5 plus $6 tower admission and $3 for a re-ride. I would also recommend to spend some time on the tower, observing the strip from up there is quite a sight.

Desperado- contrary to what others have said, this coaster is awesome. great first drop, a nice quantity of airtime, intense bunny hops, and a unique layout, also very fast. It does throw you around a lot, but that's part of the experience, it makes it better in my opinion, smoother coasters are kind of boring to me, but this isn't as rough as everyone claims it to be, you should try it out. $6 admission.

I'm not sure what other rides there are, maybe a few simulators here and there. But overall enjoy your experience at this one of a kind city.

Thanks for that input. But now I'm sort of interested in some of the guidelines.

For Example, If I were to go on Desperado (which I am) and I keep the ticket for the buy one get one free.....could I use that get one free to give to someone else like my bro or sister or something? I would think they wouldn't care.

Same with Speed: The Ride.....You guys say that it's $8 for 2 rides/back to back rides. Does this mean that I wouldn't beable to give my second ticket to someone else? I prolly will ride it two times considering it's supposed to be the best one on the strip, but I was also wondering how much it would cost for just one ride? Just wondering these things, nice to know.

Top 5:
5) S:ros Sfdl 4) Raptor 3) Apollos Chariot 2) Magnum 1) Millennium Force

The pricing for Speed: The Ride changes as the wind blows. It opened in 2000 with 6 bucks for a single and $3 re-ride. In 2001 they had 6 bucks single ride or unlimited rides for $10 ($15 with he other rides). Most recently is been $8 bucks for two consecutive rides, which is an okay deal, but still nothing compared to $10 for unlimited rides!

My point, call them ahead of time since its always changing. And......dont you think they have a relatively large queue area down stairs when most of the time it isnt full? I remember the days of Manhattan Express's queue. Two hours long and subway style turnstyles (you got a token instead of a ticket to ride).
