We'll be heading out on a nice west coast trip in July and I'm sort of excited about Vegas. I want to ride all the coasters there just to add to my Track Record. I don't know of the chances I'll get to ride Desperado though, I looked it up on the map and it's right on the Cali/Nevada border 35 miles south of the strip. That means the only way I'd be able to ride it is if there is some sort of bus or something that makes trips back and forth to the Buffalo Bills Casino. So I was wondering if they have anything like that there.
Oh yeah and one quick question. You can just go up to the casino and resort and just ride it right? Other than the fee you'll have to pay to ride it, you don't have to actually pay to be on the resort or something right?
One more question just curious about this. What are the prices of the coasters. I have been to CoasterGrotto and they say it's about $6 for all of them except manhatten express is $10. Any help on any of these would be greatly appreciated.

Hey I went to NV and here's wat I got to say about all the rides..
1. Desperado: Ehh it's pretty good, until you crest the lifthill, after that its pretty rough, I didn't knoe when the thing was gonna end ahhh! bad memories, but, if you do ride it, you get some coupon for Manhatten Express.
2. M E: It was ok for a TOGO, even tho the drop wasn't even the 200 you climb, I'd go on it just for that inline twist half-loop manuver its crazy! But other that that, pretty much average TOGO, loop some ups, lots of downs, the end.
3. Speed: The Ride: Wow! Great Ride! And NASCAR! Two things I like! Whoo!
4. Canyon Blaster @ Circus Circus: Smoothest Arrow Looper I had ever been on, pretty fun for an indoor kinda Arrow.
5. High Roller @ Stratosphere: Eh nice view....
Thats about it, well hope you have a great time!

If Dippin' Dots is the "Ice Cream of the Future", why is it in the present?
There is a bus that runs from the Strip to the resort where Desperado stands. I can't tell you the name or where to find them, but I would call Buffalo Bill's or the Primm Resort for info.
There is no resort or casino fees associated with any of the rides. For Desperado, Speed, and Manhattan Express you just walk into the area and pay for your ticket. For Canyon Blaster and High Roller, there is somewhat of an entrance fee.
I haven't been since December so I might be off on the costs, but here goes:
Desperado: $8, Manhattan Express: $10, Speed: $8 (2 Rides), High Roller: $6 to access the tower, $6 to ride twice, Canyon Blaster: Can't tell ya as I didn't go to Circus Circus.
If these prices are off, I'm sure someone here will correct me. Does anyone know if Desperado is running again?

The Stratosphere top deck has a charge just to go up there, but if you buy a pass for both Stratoshpere attractions, the admission is included.
You will be able to ride 5 coasters:
Manhatten
Desperado
Speed
Hi Roller
Canyon Blaster
(the coaster at MGM is closed and Miner Mike at the Adventuredome is for kids only)
All rides feature a one-ride option or a POP.
By the way, Despardo is now running and is probally one of the most violent, but fantastic rides out there.
Hope this helps.

Desperado is the CRAPPIEST roller-coaster I've ridden. And I've had Manhattan Express and Windjammer Surf Racers before. Flashback as well.
Not only was it also the biggest disappointment, it beat me up so bad (it has no freakin' OTSRs either) AND I still didn't even have an ounce of fun from it. It has the most boring and slow 2nd half of a hyper I've yet enountered and that is PATHETIC.
Go double up on Manhattan Express or The Adventuredome's Canyon Blaster ---that one is great! instead of wasting your precious $$$ on that yellow crap that makes itself look oh so good until you ride it. It fooled me.
UGH

If you aren't staying at NYNY or MGM Grand, check with your hotel concierge (they usually have a desk in the lobby). They can tell you if there are any buses that will take you to Buffalo Bill's. It's also possible you can pay for the bus trip through NYNY or MGM. Just ask.
When I took my son to Vegas (he was 14 at the time) we got the all day ride pass at Circus Circus. They have several rides, including a 3d sim that was one of the best IMO, and a plunge ride if you don't mind getting wet.
There are several sim rides you may want to consider. I thoroughly enjoyed Star Trek: The Experience (Paramount) at the Las Vegas Hilton, especially the complete time line and costumes/props from the TV shows and movies that make up the queue line.
And for free stuff, don't miss out on the Fountains at Bellagio, Pirate Battle at Treasure Island, Volcano at Mirage, and the Freemont Street Experience.

You can defintly pay for the bus to Prim Nevada that includes 3 casinos including Buffalo Bills. The bus leaves from NYNY and is free if you stay there or at MGM. If you're staying somewhere else, it's not that cheap. I stayed at NYNY so it was free but I belive it was around $12 per person. They just need to look at a room key though, so if you see someone showing theirs perhaps you can add yourself in or borrow it for a few seconds afterwards.
Prim offers more than just Desperado, including some great outlet shopping and the car Bonnie and Clyde were shot it. Makes a great photo op.
Personally I liked Desperado. Rough, but it's not often you get to ride that is in the middle of the desert. What a view and a great first drop. Long as well.
One word of advice. They close Desperado when it gets windy, which happens often out in the middle of the desert, so I'd call ahead if it's your only reason for heading out there.
Yea, thanks for the info. I know we're staying at the Excalibor though so I don't think that I'll beable to go out there if it is in fact $12 per person. I think I'll be content with the other rides in Vegas as I've been hearing about how bad Desperado is. I was just Expecting a rougher version of Maggie but not after I've been hearing so many bad things about it. If the cost is in fact that much for the bus ride per person then i dont think we'll go out there.
I forgot to mention the Big Shot in my initial post. I know for a fact I won't be riding High Roller since I know it will suck, waste of money, and just a bore to me. But how much would it be just to get in the Statosphere and ride The Big Shot (pereferably at night, I don't think it would matter anyway but oh well.) Same with Canyon Blaster, how much would it be for ONE ride.
I don't think I'll beable to ride a crapload as we are going to be there as a family and I know my sisters think I'm weird enough being a coaster freak. I don't want to push it too far with them so how much would I have to pay for one ride on all the coasters, even Desperado incase we end up going there. If you could, because I know that Speed the ride is like $8 for 2 rides, include the coasters that have good deals on 2 rides instead of one too so i can pick out of them. Thanks for the help.

Long live Arrow Dynamics!
It's ashame it's so much to go to Primm Valley Resorts (Primmadona, Buffalo Bills (where the rides are), and Whiskey Petes). There's a monorail to get between the resorts as they're oddly on oppisite sides of Interstate 15. BTW, the MGM group wants to build a monorail to the resort, but it would suck if it broke down in the middle of the desert. If you're renting a car Primm Valley is easy to get to and less than a half hour drive once you get moving.
The circus circus adventure dome is also very underrated.
So what are the coaster prices again?
I want to know all the deals that I would beable to get but I'm staying in the Excalibur. So how much would it be to get a ride to Desperado and then to come back to the strip.
How much is it going to be for the Big Shot too. I just want to ride that and don't care about the high roller so how much would it be to get up there and then just ride the Big Shot once or twice.
Is there any deal with Speed where you only ride it once or you have to pay $8 for 2 times. I think I'll end up riding it twice with that deal but I was just wondering.
If possible I'd like a list of all these coasters and prices and all the extra fees I'd have to pay to get there/get in. Thanks for the help.

Ok this time just one.
How much do you get off on Manhatten if you ride Desperado before it and keep your ticket?
I just found out that we get a free shuttle and buffet at Primm so i'm very excited now. Please someone answer this time. I need to know these things.
