V2 at SFGreat America

Hey. I just got back from the park and I noticed that v2 was closed. and everyother seat was missing. Well anyways I had a wicked idea on what they were doing. Could they possable run half backwords and half forwards? That would be sooo cool and insane. It would get me to love the ride even more than I do now. Well anyways just thought to say this.

dude that would be f*ckin awesome! but somehow i kinda doubt it.... i dunno i'm goin on the 9th... if nothing is heard by then i'll check it out.

the only thing i wonder about in reverse is the launch??

well this is definetly different news... i'm interested but also clueless to see where it goes from here

that is really weird. i might be going to sfgam in two weeks....so it better be open by then. ;)
kinda hard to imagine being launched backwards...but i like the thought!

I will hopefully be going to SFGAdv within a few weeks... I'll fill everyone in if I notice anything different about V2.

If I remember correctly, the seats bolt to the wheel assembly with a square "beam" and a 4 hole bolt pattern...something like that. Sounds like it would be very easy to set it up like that, if they wanted to.

I just hope it's back up and running by the 6th or 7th for our trip.

It dosen't look like they'd have enough room, unless the post holding the seats in question were moved forward, which I don't know if that's possble without re-designing it.

If they reversed all of the seats though, B&M Guy, that would not be a problem. What I really want is a confirmation of exactly what btpcheater saw.
Why would they choose to turn around all the seats during some of the busiest weeks of the summer? If they choose to do that im sure it would wait until September before Fright Fest. Im sure V2 isn't down because the park wants it to be down, and im sure those trains aren't off the track because the park wants them to be off.

If they turned the seats around you would be launched right into the otsrs, it just wouldnt work.
Ouch!

As I understand it, V2 did recently have a major malfunction again, however I can not imagine what sort of malfunction would require the removal of every other seat to rectify ?!? Perhaps, if they are turing around, or replacing some seats, they are taking advantage of the fact that the ride is under other repairs to do such. Or, more likely, the removal has something to do with the repairs, although I couldn't guess what.

I just had that as a thought that is about it. But. I was saying how cool that would be. But. I just noticed that half of the seats were missing. I think this day in age. ANYTHING is possable. Again. ANYTHING. They were gonna build a 700+ fter off stratiousphere (mis-spelled).
I'll confrim it was a malfunction, they could remove the seats to get to LIM's better

Why not just move the train down the track?
I just heard some bad news. It may not be true, but it seems somewhat logical. A friend of mine said Intamin found stress fractures. This is from a S:UE ride op. Believe it or not, I am just telling you what I heard. For all I know, it could be complete BS.

SFgam you mean and the restraints would have to be so comfortable to be launched backwards!

No, no. They had the exact same thing done to Superman at SFWoA when I was there. The train was moved a bit out of the station, JoNo. I'm sure it was a malfunction that hapened on one ride and they are now checking all of them.

When i was their on 7/31 the ride was down and a ride-op told me it was due to a electircal malfunction, dont know anymore but that is what i was told.
