Hmm.. Holiday World is sitting atop the "throne" of small parks...

Good idea, Chris... but what about 3 small S&S towers?

(I'd personally prefer the first, but an S&S tower would be too bad... )

EDIT: Of course not, Chris... how silly of me.
BTW... my first SRM next year... yes!!

Maybe one S&S tower, but why on earth would they need 3??

Remember this is a family park, I don't see them straying from what has worked since 1946. :)

Great job HW gang... again you NEVER cease to amaze me! See you next weekend!

TR2k3....GET READY!

These 3 rides are what HW is lacking AND are enjoyable by ALL ages.

1. Carousel (A big shock to me to a park that aims to entertain the young ones).

2. Ferris Wheel.

3. Dark rides. You need the new Christmas theme dark ride by Sally (I think that who's making them) and a nice haunted house dark ride in the future.

Ok this is more than 3 but a walk through haunted house would also fit in nicely in the Halloween section too!

For me HW already has what I needed the most. World class woodies and like the article show this park's management is opposite of those greedy SF parks including everything in its price! :-) Of course I already know that anyway! :-)

-----------------

I am also glad that HW tells us when we will know what the new rides or attractions will be when CP doesn't give us a clue when they will announce their rumored 420 foot racing racket coaster.

-----------------

Racing my hairy white eyebrow.

-----------------
All I need is 4.5 million bucks and a half a mile long sliver of land and maybe someone could build me my very own Shivering Timbers. ;)

Perhaps next season HW will break a record for the number of times they break an attendance record in one season. ;)

-----------------
My two favorite coasters are both named Superman.
Nitro, Gemini, Laser, Ice, Thunder...The American Gladiators!

The third attraction must be the Gravity Groups first coaster!

Chuck, who is dreaming at 6:30am but will be happy HW is expanding it's capasity. They really need it for them busy, busy days

Is it about coasters or friends? I say both! *** This post was edited by Charles Nungester on 9/19/2002. ***

Paula,

Please pass this request on to whomever is responsible for making decisions concerning new attractions...

Though no matter what is chosen for future rides, I know they will be good, as you guys are doing everything right so far. :) I just want to strongly suggest that if and when Holiday World decides to install their first large steel coaster, that they choose a nice B&M - something like Wildfire would be perfect. Thrilling enough for us big kids, smooth enough for the 'lil ones, reliable enough for the maintainence guys, and beautiful enough to complement a great park. I think it'd be pretty easy to theme it to Santa's sleigh too :)

Thanks for listening, and keep up the good work !

Current favorite coasters:
Wooden: 1) Beast 2) Raven 3) Son of Beast 4) The Boss 5) Timber Wolf
Steel: 1) Raging Bull 2) Millennium Force 3) V2 4) Wild Thing 5) Deja Vu / Mr. Freeze (tie)

I hardly think HW will be positioned to start adding mega gargantuan coasters in the near future... maybe eventually. But for now, why would they? HW's charm is it's local, family feel park. A B&M is an out of touch pipe dream.

You know the $15M price tag that comes with a B&M could result in raised admission, charging for drinks, parking and sunscreen... all taboo in the eyes of HW management an their guests.

I say HW is doing just fine and really "needs" nothing. There are indeed things that would compliment the park, but I will take the continuation of their superior customer service and customer appreciation over a large installation anyday.

Don't get me wrong, if they have an ample $10m or so, I say go for it. But HW succeeds in my eyes because it is not "overwhelming" as so many parks try to be. If they were to add a coaster, I am pretty sure it would be something that would entice lots of folks... the article flatly stated that nearby competitiors have the teen thrillseekers market wrapped up. So HW need not pursue that.

As a side note, if you think HW "needs" anything to make it a good park, you are overlooking something..... it is already a GREAT park.

Just my two cents, and not knowing what the cost of this coaster would be, what about a Santa themed Setpoint Seizmic model. Could be lots of fun, racing to get to Santa, through the woods, checking out the elves racing to save Santa...

Of coarse this is a pipe dream....

C.A.G.: Better than that, it could be a "tri" racer, themed to Santa's sleigh drivers "HardRock" "CoCo" and "Joe". (Let's see how many people know *that* Christmas story)

Need some help? I will say we're planning three different projects...one in Splashin' Safari, one in Halloween and the third in 4th of July.

As I've stated before: no coaster(s) in 2003.

Thanks, Paula

drip...drip....drip

We have a leak here! ;)

hmmm, a halloween themed carousel... even better! Hop on a bat or climb into a pumpkin :)

Speed slides are about the only thing missing in Splashin'. 4th of July, now thats a stumper! I expected to see something in the Christmas area, but the 4th of July area is in need of something as well.

How about a Haunted House (dark ride) for the Halloween section.

A big honking slide in SS

A dark ride in Halloween

An S&S Frog Hopper themed to a bottle rocket (I'd only *wish* it was a double shot tower...)

The dark ride is going in 4th of july, "The Horrors of Fireworks" will teach 'little' kids not to play with explosives. SS is getting a floating/submerging carousel. Halloween is getting the scariest ride of all.......Shock Wave, wait no roller coasters.......... ;)

boblogone - You're close, but Shockwave *must* end up in Houston. It is simply a matter of fate at this point.

chris, hoping jeremy's right about that Double Shot.

So...that wasn't my office door opening I thought I heard, it was Paula opening Pandora's Box! Now the guesses will flood in unlike anything since Noah decided to he needed to build an ark.

I love this time of year!

Moosh - updated guesses coming soon ;-)

The betting window is now open! Don't be shy, step right up and place your bets on what the three new attractions will be:

-- Carousel (either traditional or double-decker, probably at the park entrance replacing the fountain in front of Kringle's). Odds: 5-to-4

-- A collection of speed slides for the water park. Odds: 3-to-1.

-- A dark ride. Sally's North Pole Adventure would be a perfect fit, but since the additions will be in Halloween and 4th of July, probably an interactive Ghost Hunt type ride. Odds:
5-to-2.

-- A Double Shot ride (either single or double tower, probably about 150 feet high, the red, white and blue firecracker suggestions here earlier sound fair). Odds 3-to-1.

-- A mine train coaster (wow, coasters already ruled out, guess I better lower the odds here then) Odds 5-to-1

-- Shoot the chutes water ride (definitely high capacity and would complete the the trio of wet rides with the flume and rapids ride) Odds 2-to-1.

-- Water soaker coaster (on the enthusiast wishlist earlier this summer, but, sorry, no coasters) Odds 4-to-1.

-- A flat ride (too many to bank on just one, but they are cheap and high capacity for the most part). Odds 2-to-1.

-- Anything else I forgot to mention (hey, I left out plenty). Odds 3-to-2.

Wow...what an "odd" post, Paris!

Moosh - still trying to come to a conclusion about his guesses.
