Despite the addition of more trees, aggressive promotion and solid attendance, Charmland today announced that it would not open for the 2009 season. Apparently the "Most Charming Park" award from readers of Amusement Today was not enough to sustain it.
Read more from the official Charmland USA site.
UPDATE 2:43p Eastern: Charmland has been purchased by a new owner with an aggressive capital expenditure program. Check the updated site.
UPDATE 10:02p Pacific: President Obama announces that the federal government will bailout Charmland after Five Flags failed to keep the park afloat. Visit the official site for the details.

Hopefully new investors will get on board and open this park again in 2010.
Maybe with a more family friendly theme.
Hold on!!! When did Charmland have a luxury resort?
And what is the deal keeping the upcharge attraction open?
Even if this park opens in the future, I am officially on the boycott list.

Great April Fool's gag.
Coaster Junkie from NH
I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!
That sucks, possibly those mandatory coin lockers for the High Speed Thrill Slide would have saved this place.
I went there once, but I brought my own trees and sat in the parking lot. It was a lot cheaper that way.

I'm not gonna lie - I'm a little sad that I can't renew my C-land Season Pass.

What, those cheap SOBs didn't comp you admission? No consideration for other Amusement Professionals?
No wonder they failed. Heartless.
What that park needs is q-bot!

Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
The facebook page is an excellent touch! Good job!

The updated site is even greater than the original. :)
"Yo mama so fat she can't ride anything here."

I don't hate Six Flags...I just don't like 'em!
The attractions list is wonderful. Actually got an audible chuckle out of me. :)
