Update Issues

I saw you updated the forums, Jeff, and were looking for feedback.

Essentially, nothing is working for me in Chrome, but it all works fine in IE.

The quote button just scrolls back to the top of the page. The 'post new topic' button does nothing. The "post a reply" button does nothing. Clicking the "+2" square on a post to see who voted it up does nothing. The pages aren't auto-loading new posts when you scroll to the bottom. In a nutshell, all I can do is read and navigate.

Just me?

Yeah, same for me in the Mac version of Chrome. Also, direct links to posts (such as from the blue icons on the Recent page) are now jumping to the body of the post, rather than the tan username bar. In Safari, things seem to work properly.

I was having all the same issues as Gonch in Chrome. I cleared cache & restarted, and now everything is working again.

Out of curiosity, what were the most recent forum updates?

Voila, clearing Chrome's cache did the trick (didn't even have to restart the browser; just refreshed the page).

Good call, guys. That did the trick.

I love the new updates, especially the markedly decreased amount of noise in the last 24 hours....

Yeah, Chrome doesn't seem to respect normal caching rules, so you end up with it loading the old version of a script. I haven't figured out how to "fix" that, but I'm not sure I should have to since they're doing it wrong. In any case, the easiest thing to do is to shift-refresh the page, which forces it to reload everything.

I was having the same issues, and shift-refresh did the trick. Thank you.

I cant post, or do the auto scroll to new page in Firefox, even after I disabled all of my add on programs. IE works though.

I just encountered the problem for the first time today. On my Mac, I held shift and command, and then typed r, for a new refresh, and that did the trick.

You guys know how technologically challenged I am. I was having the issues mentioned above here at work. I clicked the "reload this page" button, and It's all good. We'll see what happens at home later...

FYI: Refresh worked for me too.

The worst part is that it's always a cache/refresh issue and I never remember to try it. This is like the third time this year that someone had to tell me, "Clear your cache, Gonch."

It's my kryptonite.
