Underrated and Least Hyped

I'd have to say the Boss or Megazeph. Understand that I haven't ridden those rides, but seeing how little conversation there is regarding those rides, even here on CB, proves my point. Boulderdash? Naw... I see tons of "talk" on it...

MooreOn, I couldn't agree "more on" Roar! From what I've heard, Boodley wanted a wilder ride for the west coast version, and it has the Millennium Flyer trains...

Dania Beach Hurricane (DBH ;)), and Villain don't get enough ink, nor does ThunderHawk or Wild One. Cheetah doesn't get mentioned too often. Did I mention that I really love woodies ?

Any resemblance between this post and humor is purely coincidental. No robots were harmed in the filming of this episode...The sarcasm filter default has been left ON for your enjoyment.

Yeah, those Millenium Flyers put PTC to shame, plus the extras on the ride and the new beginning was awsome. I even got to walk Roar's layout on foot(not all of it, but most.)

Top 5 Steels-------------Top 5 Woodies
1.Steel Dragon 2000------1.Boulder Dash
2.S:RoS(SFNE)-----------2.Roar@SFMW
3.Medusa WEST----------3.White Cyclone
4.Fujiyama---------------4.Regina
5.Pyrenees---------------5.Excalibur@Funtown

I concur that The Villain is a very underrated, under-appreciated coaster, that suffers from unfair comparisons to Ghostrider. This coaster stands on it's own, and has never given me a bad ride. By far the best coaster at SFWOA in my opinion. :)
For a change I disagree with you, DWeaver. Although Villain isn't a bad ride by any stretch, I felt it was an under-achiever. Villain was neart the top of a lot of lists when I went to SFWoA last Summer. I was expected something GREAT, but got something GOOD. :( . Almost any coaster would suck if compared to GhostRider! :)

I've traded in my 2000 Giovanola for a 2002 Arrow X4D :)
My other car is now an Arrow X4D!

LoadedG....yeah, you are correct sir! Ghostrider is the bomb in my opinion. Another coaster that gets no attention, with the exception of the little people in Idaho;), is Timber Terror. What little notoriety comes to Silverwood goes to their "other" coaster, Tremors. Granted, it is no slouch, but Timber Terror is amazing and a full on airtime monster, ala Shivering Timbers. Is it location???

You will love the look on her face.

It's gotta be location, Timber Terror rocks!

What's YOUR favorite Intamin?

Many of the under rated live in the South.
Top Gun in South Carolina.
Chang in Louisville. It has no ride theme, but it dosen't need one.
Maga Zeph in Orlando and Rampage in Birmingham. Two neglected coasters that could use some much deserved attention.
And Montu is the God of Coasters.

I would have to agree with VIPER at SFGAM. This coaster is smoother than most steel coasters, and it is wood. It also puts every other wooden coaster to shame that i have ridden EX: Beast, SOB, Gwazi, Villain, Racer.

The Only wooden coaster that would come close to it would be Big Dipper at SFWOA, which is also underrated. But Viper still beats that.

People say it is a cyclone but they don't mention that it is higher than the original and is a mirror image and has a double dip, which is the best part of the ride.

Dweaver...yeah, it is a monster of a ride. That final helix is the best one that CCI has built in my opinion. Soooo intense, and then that surprise drop into the station. Very sweet. Attention coasterlovers: Go to Idaho!

i think swamp fox, at family kingdom (myrtle beach, sc) is very underrated, it may not be the best, but it has great air time and is smooth (considering how old it is)
Definately Viper @ SFGAm. First time I rode it it blew me away! I couldn't beleive I hadn't heard much about it and it wasn't on any top 10 wooden coaster lists (well, other than mine!)
A coaster that seems to be under rated and not well known(and one that I am going to be introducing a few fellow C-buzzers to this coming weekend......Rob and Chris, are you ready for one of the best old school woodies around?)is the Vancouver PNE/Playland Coaster. The airtime on this ride is insane.I would challenge anybody to ride with their hands off the lapbar after the fourth drop.

-----------------
I can fix anything.....where is the duct tape?

thunderhawk at dp. On the front seat of this ride you get wicked airtime.

Northern Idaho...The middle of nowhere! Won't be getting there anytime soon. :(

Anyway, I would say Excalibur at Funtown USA. And from the last thread I posted in like this, it sounds like Excalibur at Vallyfair is good too.

Lewis, it is true that Excalibur (that's right VFfan!) is a great, but incredibly short ride. I love the drop into that monster curve at the bottom of the second hill (when it's not underwater!!) :)

Ron, Chris isn't coming....:( Let's hope it doesn't rain!

Top Gun at Carowinds is underrated...i guess....

Great Bear for steel. Looks like a nice little inverter.

Boss for woodies. Viper is constantly raved about in every TR I read, on the other hand, Boss, well, it's just there.

R.I.P Megadeth. 20 Years of Metal will not be forgotten.

Excalibur@Funtown was a great ride but incredibly short. Your having so much fun, I always think "why did it have to end so soon?" Excalibur could have easily have been up there with Raven if they lengthen it, but the park doesn't have that kind of money. It is, by far, the best coaster you can get at a pay one price though.

" Attention coasterlovers: Go to Idaho!"

Not many would take a trip to Idaho for anything, even one of the best CCIs. IF you haven't noticed, Idaho isn't the most welcoming place to visit, and isn't exaclty your vacation destination.

I have too totally agree with the Cyclones:

Aska and Viper, the best duo out there.

White Canyon was amazing, they coud have gone a little more intense, but it is a amazing coaster that delivers a ride that is as fabulous as it looks.

Wild Wild West, except for the trains, this coasters rocks.

Georiga Cyclone, may be overshadowed by the GASM, this coaster really show Dinns and Summers thrilling collaboration. It is also is the last of their coasters to stay in original condition and give the great ride it was built to give.

Texas Cyclone: You just can't help but to feel the pain that this coaster gives. Though the Cyclone was reworked repeatedly over the years as the park attempted to tame its inherent fury. Despite this, its still is the most popular attraction at Astroworld now and delivers a fairly good ride.

Ever notice that of all the Cyclones, that the Coney Island Cyclone is the only one that can stay in perfect form for all these years?

Tornado at Adventureland, Bill Cobbs only coaster that still soars with the prize today.

The High Speed Thrill Coaster at Knoebels... Walk on almost all the time, no airtime, but a great rib killer. Did I mention that it was built in 1955 and the only Overland Coaster existing. Also, Dragon Mountain at Marineland.

-----------------
Coaster count so far this year: 1. What a way to start the year off though: Cyclone at Coney Island!
