Ugly Parks..

Has anyone ever been to a really ugly park? I think that Marineland in Canada is kinda ugly.

My sig was edited because it was more than three lines.

Since you're new here you should know these kind of threads don't fly around here. The TOS gives you an idea of what's not cool....check it out. (FYI - they also say sigs should be three lines or less)

Real Cbuzz quote of the day - "The classes i take in collage are so mor adcanced then u could imagen. Dont talk about my emglihs" - Adamforce
How should he know that if he's new here?
where is the TOS?

Because he had to agree to the Terms of Service like everyone else who has signed up here and it states clearly in the Terms of Service what is and what isn't acceptable.

Just a little advice CoasterCrazyBrutha, since you are new here you may want to wait to start new topics and kind of lurk for a while and see what is acceptable and what isn't acceptable.

TOS can be found here. *** Edited 8/2/2004 3:54:46 PM UTC by Kick The Sky***

Certain victory.

I don't get how this thread violates the TOS. I'm usually the first one to jump sarcastically on violators, but this one seems OK to me.

That said - I think there are very few ugly parks. A skyline of coasters is always beautiful to me. And it seems almost all of them have beautiful surroundings, too - whether it's a body of water (CP, Kennywood), mountains (SFMM), bucolic farmland (HW), or tree-covered hills (PKI).

The ugliest park I can think of is SFKK, which is in a run-down urban area, across the street from an airport.

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
On the right hand side of every page there's a box entitled "Tools." In that box is a link "About CoasterBuzz." That will take you to a page that has a link to the Terms of Service.

Welcome to CoasterBuzz.

Ok i read it. Its strict but i got it. ;-)

I know many would disagree, but I find Terra Mitca very ugly. I think it gives off a dry feel. In the same theme perspective, I think SFFT has done a way better job dealing with a rock quarry surrounding.

Not really ugly, but some parts of Six Flags America needs work, especially that gotham area. They should have explored a canadian prairie theme.

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Fun Spot definatly and Unfortunatly, parts of Lakemont, but that wasn't the parks fault, it was the guys building Boyertown.
For some reason, I didn't find SFGAM in Gurnee very pretty.

Chuck, who thought Williams grove was run down but not ugly.

I don't know about entire parks being ugly, but the parking lot theming at Six Flags parks in California could be improved.

"I go out at 3 o' clock for a quart of milk and come home to my son treating his body like an amusement park!" - Estelle Costanza
I hate to say it but Lakemont really lacks something. A really elaborate entrance leads to a mostly open treeless field with rides scattered about amongst gravel walkways with no real permanent looking or attractive buildings or attractions (aside from the rides)

I can't totally blame the place as they had a lot to recover from after the Boyertown fiasco. I wish I could have seen the "old" park - the pictures I've looked at show a really beautiful and classy old park.

On the plus side, They seem to continually yet slowly make small improvements in the place.

Conneaut Lake Park is def the ugliest.. Trust me.

I understand why you consider Terry Mitica to be ugly. On the other hand I don´t know many parks which really managed to have a consistant and well-made theme like TM.
The "nakedness" truly fits the theme, but it doesn´t help that it is severly lacking trees, shade and "amusing" atmosphere.
I think that "one"-theme parks are not working with the public (well, maybe "Holy Land Experience"), the gigantic failure of Space Park also shows this.

With apologies to UK posters I must say that Margates "Dreamland", "Flamingo Land" and last but certainly not least "Fantasy Island" are pretty high on the "ugly list".

(How does this topic violate the ToS? I am against the witch hunt.)

I agree 100% about Lakemont, John Peck. It has been slowly getting better the past few years though. Why on earth would someone think that what's best for his newly acquired park is to cut down all of the very mature trees? I can not fathom how that decision was made. It boggles the mind. He took the "park" out of his amusement park.

I think that Knoebles is very, VERY ugly. The only thing that saves the beauty of this park is the trees. They should move all of that gravel to the parking lot and pave some walkways throughout the park. I hate parking on grass and in mud, and I hate walking on gravel. I want walkways, not gravel everywhere.

Some people would say that this is one thing that gives Knoebels it's charm. I say that it makes the park look cheap and ugly.

...And what's with some of those buildings and colors? And that road that goes right through the middle of the park?

I haven't been there for a few years, so forgive me if the place has changed. It's a fun park with fun rides and attractions and everything, I just think that it is ugly.

Dorney Park! Does nothing for me and SFDL.

Thanks,
DMC

Conneaut was actually pretty nice and the setting was nice too. A few coats of paint and some sidewalk work and this park would be terrific with it's setting.

Crashmando...

You really think SFDL is ugly? Have you really been there & taken a look around... ohhhh sayyy
Here?... Maybe Here.
Here?... Possibly Here.
Here?... Gotta be Here.
Here?... or Here?!

Doesn't look too ugly to me, that's for sure...

As for ugly parks... try Marty's Fantasy Island... most of it looks like a big friggin' carnival. If Silver Comet wasn't there... it would be a carnival!
