Ugliest Coasters/Unphotogenic Coasters?

Regarding 'ugly' coasters...forgive me for sounding like the hippie teacher on Beavis & Butthead, but am I the only one who finds beauty in all coasters? Seriously...I think Viper at SFGAdv looks awesome. Even the Batman coasters, with or without rust, are beautiful.

I dunno...maybe I should be committed.

I think the rust on the Batman rides tend to go along with the "theme." When I first saw Batman at Great Adventure, I wasn't sure if it was supposed to look like that or not.

One sided soldier, I think your way off base about the color combination on Scream. All the colors complement each other. You of course are welcome to your own opinion.

Thanks Vater, awesome pic whoever did it!

I don't care what anyone says, Magnum is better then Millenium Force.

That Beast pic is quite similar to the one I have. Taken from PKI's own heliocopters, I'd bet.

I actually really like the Scream! color scheme... it's very unique. But on the other hand, I believe (and I'm sure many other people feel the same as I do) Scream! would look much more aesthetically appealing if its "landscape" was actually greenery, instead of just being solid concrete.

Ugliest coaster in my opinion is Viper at SFGAdv...and I know it's not a coaster, but Freefall at SFoG definitely gets honorable mention. It's the only ride I've refused to ride on account of the color scheme.
I've found kiddie miller coasters to look rather trashy and carnival-ish.

Also, Vortex at PKI looks like a cluttered mess:

Whirlwind is looking pretty ugly here at Knoebels, the rust on the white track really is noticeable. Seen here. As for unphotogenic, I'd have to say Iron Wolf, due to virtually no spots to take pictures.

Vater- Thank you for speaking my words. ALL coasters are beautiful.

Jeff- Though I find all coasters beautiful, I agree with you. TTD is beautiful to a lesser extent. A much lesser extent.

I also enjoy looking at any coaster. Its almost like this: You may have ugly kids, but you still find plenty of beauty in them (I Hope). I personally have never said or thought that a coaster wast ugly.

The Beast, at night, Nothing better.

Some would say Space Mountain (with lights on), but I think it looks interesting.

------------------
Purple cows eat silver moon pies, among fiesty, glowing fireflies.

I would have to say any steel coaster painted all white. White track on Steel Coasters should be banned. It makes the whole coaster look ugly and unphotogenic.

Hmmm....I just got back my pictures from PKD, and damn Coaster895, if Hypersonic XLC isn't one photogentic coaster. Of course, it could also be the photographer who took the pictures:)

IMHO, V:TBC at PKD is the most unphotogenic coaster.

I second that. I was there this past weekend for the first time, and I could not get any good closeups. There is always a support in the way, or you can't get in a good possision. The only good shot I got of it was a shot of the whole coaster. :P

Change the angle a little bit, and Whirlwind become one of my personal favorite pictures.

Maybe I am just sick from looking at it all last summer, but I really do not think that The Flying Coaster @ SFEG is at all visually pleasing. It looks downright cheap. It does not seem to have any discernable pattern to it, just a random mish-mash of track and supports.

On somewhat of a side note, something that is to say the least interesting, but not necessarily ugly is Son of Beast's lift structure. You expect straight symmetry when you look at the supports of a wooden coaster, but up close SOB's is quite different. When I first saw it the 'crooked' cross braces really threw me off.

Thanks a lot, Van Driesen, you hippie...

I nominate the Scorcher at SFOG. It's surrounded by woods on one side, but "zeroscaped" with gravel on the bottom... terrible combo of grey, yellow, and green.

I never have cared for CP's Raptor, either. I think the green makes it blend in with the sky, lake, and dark pavement and greenery nearby. It doesn't stand out like it should.

Is that a Q-bot in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

I'd have to disagree, coaster895. Nothing beats a well maintained white coaster for looks, particularly on a nice clear blue sky morning. This isn't the best example, but it was easy for me to find:

Trying to think of an unphotogenic coaster I find is difficult. I take it to mean a coaster, regardless of how it is looked at / photographed, is plain, or 'uneventful'. Every coaster I've ever seen, in the 'real world', or through random coaster generating at RCDB, has some interesting points. Sure, you can have bad photos, but to me, you can't have bad coasters.
