Two Face broked.

I didn't post this as news, despite what several people submitted, because frankly it's not really news.

Stupid headlines like "Two hours of roller coaster hell" certainly don't make it news either.

I was surprised to see several reports on this. One report made light of the situation "knowing my luck, I'd be next to a really annoying person!" ..

Another report was the typical over-the-top nonsense: "As you can see, the the riders sit with their legs dangling in the air facing each other, so they could see the horror in each other's faces."

Sheesh.

Oh on the fox news they show'd the riders cheering while stuck so i don't think they were all that worried about finishing their will's. Boomshakalaka

LOL. The reporter on Fox News at 3-4 PM was sayingall the stats right the first time, then the second time he said all the stats for Joker's Jinx for Two-Face. Gotta love reporters.
Did you hear the interviews today on ABC? "I'll never go on another roller coaster again." and "At first I thought it was funny, but it's not funny after 2 1/2 hours."

Oh well, two less people in front of me in line for coasters. :) Very slow day in the news when it gets on local news in KC.

Must be a pretty big story. It was on the local NBC 11:00PM news last night here in Charlotte!
Whats funny to me is that a co-worker of mine thought the whole deal was funny. She doesnt ride coasters anymore and hasnt in a long time and even she knows there was no grave danger like the media makes there out to be. She just sat there laughing and said in her exact words "My God, even the general public who doesnt go crazy over them like you do knows how stupid it was for them to make a big deal out of it. It wasnt that big of a deal."

This is kind of strange to me because i work at Paramout Theater (directly behind face off) at PKI. I work at the magic show (Spellbound). The real reason im posting is because I watch Face-Off get stuck almost every day. It usualy happens on the reverse side after the loop below the secound lift. It accasionaly happens on the lift as well. It has never been reported on the news or on this site though.
BatwingFan stated "Well when Titan got stuck on the lift it was easy to evacuate the train,on an invertigo it's a different story because the idiots at vekoma didn't put a walkway under the lift, the same thing goes for their SLC's.

B&M on the other hand was smart enough to engineer a platform under the entire length of the lift on their inverted coasters so that in the rare case of a train stopping in that position it can be unloaded safely & efficiently, also the unusual positioning of the passengers & the 55 degree angle of the invertigo lift would still make unloading the train very difficult from that position."

Well @ SFNE Mind Eraser is getting a new wooden floor installed under the lift hill...and B&M dont have shuttles and if they did I bet my life they wouldnt build a walkway underneath... And I Live in RI and I also saw it on the news..

#1 Canobie Lake Park Fan!!! My top 7 coasters:
1. S:RoS @ SFNE 2. Montu 3. Yankee Cannonball 4. Kumba 5. Gwazi 6. Cyclone (SFNE) 7. B:DK

I'm sure everyone knew that I was referring to B&M's inverted coaster (ie Raptor or B:TR) & I'm well aware that B&M don't make shuttle coasters,at least not yet they don't.
My local tv station was pretty accurate. They said that it was 140 feet in the air and stuck on the lift hill and they showed a picture. But they also said they closed the ride down and THE PARK????!? Is that true becuase I dont think they would shut a whole park down because a coaster broke down and also the people on the ride shouldn't be too uncomfortable because the angle they are tilted at isn't too extreme
They only shutdown the southwest territory section of the park which is the section in which Two face is located.

That area of the park should now be open again with the exception of Two face,I'd see no reason why they can't operate the remaining rides in that section while they work on fixing Two face.

It was on doen here in Springfield, MO

I forgot to mention that they had to evacuate S:ROS back in April. It got stuck at the top of the lift and they had to walk everyone down. Where were the helicopters then?

If you have a problem with clones, the solution is real simple—Stop traveling.
When the heck did that happen? I went on opening weekend this year & S:ROS was running just fine that day(albeit a little slow due to single train operation) but it was running.

Perhaps you're reffering to the incident in 2000 when the chain broke just a few weeks after S:ROS first opened to the public,I'm sure we all remember that one.

Ah, no BFSFA, it happened this year, and it was in April. I saw it with my own two eyes. Train was stuck, people were walked down. I'm guessing I was there on one of the spring break days.

Batwing Fan, a train stopped on the lifthill doesn't necessarily mean that the ride would be broken down the entire month. Just because you didn't see it doesn't mean that it didn't happen.

"We find that people don't pay any attention to what's underneath the ride."--SFMM Rep discussing Scream! as quoted in AT

Hi, I'm new here. I just thought I'd post here because I watched the news tonight and I thought all of this big news coverage was stupid just because a coaster stalled on the lift hill. I watched the CBS Evening news earlier tonight, and this is the whole story they reported on tv... http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2003/07/04/eveningnews/main561788.shtml

I sent them a complaint after the show was over, telling them how stupid this story was.

Yeah, they really over dramatized the true nature of the situation.

As I understand it the ride did exactly what it was supposed to do in the event of a major malfunction or other safety concern & that was for it to stop in the safest possible position which happened to be the lift.

I'd much rather be stuck on the lift of the ride then in a valley between inversions,or worse stuck in the cobra roll, all they had to do was wait patiently for either the maintenance crews to get it going again(which they did) or be taken off by the fire dept's high angle rescue team.
