Twisted Rails posts video of X in action

Posted | Contributed by Karl DeAngelo

I've been very lucky recently, getting to witness the first test run of X, and now watching it in the daylight and being able to record it for everyone. So far, everything seems to be working as it should for X. The wait shouldn't be too much longer.

So, who from Southern Wisconsin or Northern Illinois wants to plan a trip to LA once this opens ? I'm in Madison, WI and I have a SF Season Pass. Anyone work for an airline or hotel chain ? :)

the neon love chicken has spoken, have a nice day :)
Karl, I would just like to thank you once again, for the amazing way you have kept us up to date on the progress of this coaster. Now comes the time when we're about ready to ride this baby, and I really want to meet the person who has allowed me to watch it grow from markings on the ground, to the beast that it is. You've got my vote as site of the year. See you on media day! ;)

I'd like a tall CCI out and back, and a grande nonfat Latte to go please!
*picks jaw up off of floor*

Many of you have said this, and I'm going to say it as well...OMG! This thing is just wacked!

Great Job to the folks at Arrow for comming up with a wild coaster like this, and an extra thanks to all the folks out at Twisted Rails. I've been following the progress of X since the beginning via your webpage. You guys have done a great job sharing with the rest of the world the progress on one super coaster.

thanks karl. well, i wouldn't mind being a test dummy. that ride looks great. but i think they might add a trim brake before the raven turn.

Short but sweet. I'm glad someone is willing to take a risk. Then again, with an entire arsenal behind you, it's not that large of a risk. Can't wait to ride it.

Now, let's see what Knott's has up their sleeve.

Yeeee Haaawwww!
Hey Joe Carrol! I live in Madison too. I didn't know any other buzzers were in this town. Well I'd love to go but unfortunetly school starts for me. My brother just moved to LA, too bad he gets motion sickness.
God bless the inventors of the corkscrew loop!

And PGASFMW, my hands are folded in prayer with you!

I wanna ride this thing so bad, maybe I'll just go to SFMM for opening day, go on it and then leave, cuz after that the lines will be incredible.
What I'm really wondering right now is what type of music they will play inside the station. Any guesses?

Can't wait to see where we will be seeing our new 4d's..... neXt dimension @ SFDL all the way! whoo hoo... i wish....

...after manualy adjsting the brightness+contrast I found it much easier to see the seats rotating... very cool.

[edit]
oh, and one other thing, on your camcorder you should see if there is a "white balance" control in the options [it "looks" like you are using an automatic setting...].. try adjusting the white balance and the video will turn out a lot better for those sunny days so its easier to see. I noticed a huge improvement after trying this with my camcorder when taking video footage... just look for a "white balance" setting and fiddle around with it. Just a suggestion so the video turns out a little brighter and clearer.

Twisted Rails, awesome dedication towards this ride.. thanks for all the great updates on a weekly basis you really show a lot of dedication towards us coaster enthusiasts.

Keep up the awesome work!

Ok, I just put up a MPEG version for those of you wanting a Windows Media version. I hope that will satisfy you for now.

I took the video with my Nikon 990 digicam. I wish I had access to a real digital camcorder to take the video with. Who knows...maybe I'll find a way sometime soon... ;) I'm new to the video editing aspect of things so I'm still playing around with some settings with the compressors and such but I wanted to get the video out regardless of size so everyone could see the ride in action.
