TTD Lately

I am not a member of any clubs, but by pure coincidence, was at CP from June 20-23 during CoasterCon. Despite the fact that during those 4 days it was only made it one complete day (2 partials and one that wasnt even close to opening), I was happy with the up-time as well as the rate of dispatches.
The ride is running much better than last year, with a much greater frequency of launches, as well as the last car being loaded all the time.
According Dippin Dots guys I talked to (yeah, yeah...I know) it still has a fair amount of down time, but most of that is due to high winds (over 35mph).
Quick Question for Jeff- guy258 asks about downtime on TTD, mariambaguy says "check out the trip reports," jeffrey r smith mentions "I can't find a trip report that does not mention random shut downs," then you go and basically say "screw the trip reports, they don't give you an accurate idea of how often the ride is open." So what else do you expect us to do? If everyone is saying there's downtime in they're reports, i would say its a pretty accurate measurement of how much downtime TTD is having.

I don't buy 90% uptime either, but out of fear of getting booted, i think i'll just go with it, and allow Jeff to make rules for us, cause obviously Jeff's input is more valid than the TR's of people who don't suck off Cedar Point.

All I am saying is that its not even on the same chart as last year's uptime.

*slowly..backs...away*

I must have good luck with CP because, every time I've visited in the past two years, TTD has been running either most of the day or all day. I haven't been up there since May, so I am not sure how she's operating now, but back in May the trains were firing quite quickly. The 1:10 average sounds about right.

SHE? Why are all coasters chicks? Not that I'm complaining, but are there any "guy" coasters?
I guess Beast & Son-Of-Beast could be considered male coasters:
"he rode really rough last time I was there" or "that bad-boy was running fast!"

But for the most part... all coasters are made in refrence to females. What's up with that?

All I wanted to know that if I am going to be a CP for 3 days, my chances of getting a ride. I know last year they had a 3 week period of it being down. I dont necessarily care if it is down 10-30 minutes periodically. Just wanted to know if it has been down for a longer period of time lately. If it is running for half of each day I will be more than happy. I just want a ride or two. So please stop arguing. I am from Chicago will only go to cedar point once or twice.
You should get at least a ride in.
I was just there this past weekend and TTD was running fine for the most part of Saturday. It had some early downtime in the morning around 9:00 AM and then some times during the day, it didnt seem to stay down for too long. Im not sure about Sunday, didnt see it running whenever i had a glance at it from the resort and i also noticed a huge line for MF. so I assume it was down sunday.

Be sure to get in line for it when you can, if it breaks down, stay in line, it went back up within 15 minutes for me saturday night. Enjoy.

Yeah, definitly. The ride alone is pretty much worth the trip. I mean, just to be able to say you were on it is also just a cool thing to take home with you. From my trip the ride would take a dump and be running within the hour...so if it does happen to break down, just wait a little longer, its worth it.

Best of Luck- Enjoy Your Trip!

I posted my experience with the ride in this thread. http://www.coasterbuzz.com/forum.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=38590
There ARE guy coasters. Raging Bull wouldn't be the same if it were Raging Cow. Daughter of Beast just doesn't sound right. And yeah, TTD is VERY manly. And can you imagine if they had some valleygirl saying "Okay, so like keep your head back, hold onto that cute yellow thing, and like, put your arms down!" Just my ramblings...

But then again, what do I know?
