TTD Lately

I haven't been to all the coaster sites in a while, and kinda lost track on how rides are running. I am planning a trip to Cedar Point in a month and I am wonder how dragster has been running and if any other rides have been down.
I'm assuming it's running ok, check out trip reports and maybe even do a search. That'll be your best bet. :)

I've often wondered from time to time, how to write good poetry- and make it all... Work.
Top Thrill Dragster has been running extremely consistently lately. Every time I have been to the park it has been in operation, with the exception being in times of inclement weather. Today while getting in line the queue line was filled with the exception of 1 1/2 sections of queue. The sign said 2 hours but the wait was a modest 45 min. Trains were launching like pancakes off a grill Sunday morning at Dennys. Probably 45 seconds between two trains moved together to the launching area, and maybe a minute and a half from that set of trains to the next. So maybe an average of 1 launch per 1 min 10 sec? Running Great.

Thanks guys! I am also planning a trip to Geauga Lake anyone know how X-Flight is running?
Not sure at the moment, but last week they were only running one train and it was taking them a fair amount of time to dispatch it...I'd guess they were sending 1 train every 6 or 7 minutes, so capacity was quite low.

Excellent news! I'm planning a trip to LeSourdsville Lake in the coming month. Any news as to how Screechin' Eagle is running? :)
Last I had heard, Homey, was that it was dispatching at a rate of one train per every other year, but that's just me.....;)
Somehow that was funny and sad at the same time. Therefore, I'll acknowledge that with a :):(

hey coaster guy, X_flight is still just running the one car. Steel Venom is still down.

My brother is there now, and he left me a voice mail saying the Dominator is breaking down, again. and Head Spin broke down 3 times, today.

Anyone else know what's going wrong with the maintenance of SV and Dominator?

Was at the ACE CoasterCon... I arrived on Sunday, 6/20. TTD was running, but it went down in the mid-afternoon. Remained down all day Monday. Was operational Tuesday morning, 6/22, but went down again early that afternoon. It was up during the morning of Wed, 6/23, and I left CP early that afternoon for the banquet.

I dont really care how slow the operation is, I just want it to be open.
All 3 times I have gone this year, weather permitting, it has run great.

I clocked a launch every 1 minute, 10 seconds (average) at peak hours, so it doesnt seem like there would be any need to worry.

Are they doing the FreeWay stamps for Dragster this year? I remember last year they had the booths, but because of the unpredictability of Dragster... they never gave them out.

Are they doing it for Dragster this year, and if so... what times do they start "hand"-ing them out (no pun intended ;))?

In my one visit, it did appear that they were using them, but I didn't get one, so I have no idea when they were available.

Certainly does not sound like 90% uptime!?
It has definitely seemed like 90% uptime to me..

well, I guess MAYBE 89%.. ;) *** Edited 6/28/2004 12:29:33 AM UTC by MForce2k***

I can't find a trip report that does not mention random shut downs. There was one back in late May that seemed like it was up all day though! I just can't buy the 90% figure! Maybe only those people that are there on the 10% days bother to post trip reports!? :-)
It's not at 90%, although it's getting there. The ride still has slight problems, but for the most part the major issues they had last year have been taken care of.

I guess I should post more trip reports. Just because you hear about downtime here doesn't make it the rule.

Although it was interesting to hear about the ACE con. Apparently they blew not one, but two hydraulic pumps, and even had one of them flown in. That's like an enthusiast curse or something.
