TTD is back in business!

I can't believe I missed you Jeff!

Anyways, I was in the second to last train before they closed it down in the middle of the day. What really gets me is the fact that I was kicked out of the line for the front seat...that is ridiculous. I was not given a warning until I had already waited 35 minutes for the front!!! CP is usually perfect, but even a fanboy can be angered by his favorite park.

Has anybody talked to the park about it?

Talked to the park about what? Dragster being down again? All they are going to do is tell you that it is down for mechanical reasons and that you should come back tomorrow because it is going to open tomorrow. I was out there for 7 days last week and every day my friends and I were told that "it is going to open tomorrow". Your best bet is to wait until you can clearly see it running before going to the park...for some people, like me, that could mean a very long drive. But, I think it is worth it!

Clear...You're launching in 3..2..1..!

So Craig, did you think they were going to launch six trains with only front seat riders just for you?

WOW cant believe its down again, I wonder whats up with it now???

Its weird but I havd planned a trip to Cedar Point this week(Infact I would have been at the park today and tomorrow if I had my way) but I am sooo glad my trip has been cancelled till October because of all these problems, I would have been really disapointed travelling from England and not riding TTD. Hopefully with my revised trip in October, the ride should be running a bit more reliable near the end of the season.

I'm surprised they don't close the front seat queue, say, 45 minutes before the ride is due to close. This is what happens here in the UK so anyone in the queue should get to ride, and people don't have to be turned away.

MS

Of course I didn't expect them to launch 6 empty, front seat trains; but, exactly as Marcus said, they should have at least closed off the line for the front when they clearly knew they were going to stop running trains.

That way you could at least get a ride on it.

They did. They closed off the line behind us, and I was stupid enough not to look back from the station and see that the line was empty except for a few people. This fact didn't dawn on me until they told us, after we had waited, that we might not have a chance to ride the front. Regardless, I did still get to ride the thing, and very lucky at that because I didn't see it open at all before we left around 5:30. All in all it is a very minor problem that could be avoided if the ops just told us a little earlier we might not be able to ride in the front.

Never plan a trip around a new attraction. It could very well lead to major dissapointment. Your better off counting on it NOT being up and running and then if it is in fact going, then you just act real surprised and happy!

It's great that we live in a country that accepts such mediocrity! Never plan your trip around a new attraction. Let me see if I can relate:

* Never go to the grocery store expecting the newest food

* Never go to the movies to see the just released movies

* Never go to the book store looking for the Top 10 book

* Never go to the electronics store looking for that great new HDTV

I would love to work for you guys. "Jeez, I just created this new spreadsheet that will save the company thousands of dollars, but because it is new and took me hours to build, I can't rely on it, so you can only look at it!"

Where can I send my resume to you guys?

Demand excellence always! Quit making excuses for this park. This is totally unacceptable. Keep on riding on the Mean Streak and maybe some common sense will be scrambled back into your head!

can someone just answer coasterguy's question cause I would kind of like to know to. I have a trip planned to be up there June 29 and 30.
Just wait until tomorrow, then you can check the webcams in the morning.

If your analogies are any example, you can't. If the "newest food" (whatever that means) isn't at the local grocery, then buy the other food or go to another store. You're purchasing the food or the television; you're not purchasing access to the actual store.

Dragster is not a product that is consumed; coasters are much more akin to entertaining services that you enjoy. You purchase entrance into the park, and if you think about it as you would a store, you're bound to be disappointed. Because, inevitably, they will be "out of certain products."

I suggest that if you find Dragster's downtime, or CP's handling of it "totally unacceptable," then go to another park. I don't mean that in a childish "If you don't like it, go somewhere else" sort of way. What I mean is, vote with your money, not with your mouth. If the down time is so devastating for you, pump your money into another park. If enough people follow suit, CP will notice. Of course, the result is that future investments will be of a more tried-and-true variety, instead of record-breaking coasters that push the envelope. But if that's what you want, then that's what you want.

I'm gazing into my crystal ball. I'm....I'm getting a vision. It's becoming clearer. Wait, I got it! It's a 3 part answer.

1) New Rides are unpredictable.

2) Go to the park and enjoy it! Who cares if one coaster is down. There are still 16 others to ride.

3) None of us are mind readers. Call CP and ask them what is wrong with it and how long they think it will be until it opens.

Oh no! The vision is fading, fading, fading away.
