TTD Freeway pass on ebay

I am not interested in buying this or is some conman trying to cheat somebody out of fifteen bucks? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2186622395&category=1306

"Hey, that looks like Princess Diana. Oh wait, it's just a pile of rags."

CP will see that and stop it immediately. Those passes are not to be sold at any price.

I find it incredibly lame that anyone who would put that out there, considering the park was never obligated to issue it in the first place. It's because of crap like this that they may discontinue giving them out again.

Lame.

Yeah, CP closely watches auctions and makes sure no one sells passes, tickets, or coupons. That auction will probably be canceled soon.

I also agree it is bad to try to profit from CP's generosity..it is a shame that someone would take advantage of a park's kindness

I doubt they'll see it.

Just send them the link, that's the best bet at getting the person behind it caught, and possibly prosecuted (goodie!).

I saw a set of 4 sell for over $50 a while ago. Do the passes actually say that they are not to be sold. Because if they don't CP can't do jack squat about it.

If you don't like the ride shut up and get out of line.

It says good for the person issued or somethign similar, or at leat I have always been under that impression.

Sure they can do something about it, Dan... stop giving them out entirely.

I have two passes from the park. The one that's for Dragster only specifically says "Non-transferable. Pass void if copied or sold". The other, good for any ride, has similar wording "Coupon void if sold".

Cedar Point would indeed have a case.

There's another auction for 2 of them listed a little bit farther down the page than the first. This auction includes a photo of one of the passes, in which it can be clearly seen that it says you're not supposed to sell them.

Pathetic... has anyone emailed CP about those? Because if it's near the bottom, that probably means it's been there for a while, which means that CP might not actually be looking at eBay for these types of things.
First off who would be low enough to try and make a buck off this, secondly who would be dumb enough to bid on this item, the bidders most likely are the normal dead beat bidders that don't come through anyway. I'm tempted to bid $500 on all the special access tix and TTD freeway tix, and not follow through, I don't use ebay anymore anyways and don't care if my account is terminated or I get banned.
I'm sure that CP has noticed them. Anyone remember the whole "magnum wheel" incident 3-4years back? They definitely keep an eye on ebay.

I can see both sides of the coin. This is most likely a person who visits the park only once or twice a year. They probably spent $20 or more in gas and tolls to get to the park, $8 to park, $43.95 per person to get in and who knows how much on food, games and souvenirs. A family of four has spent just over $200 just to get into the park. Now you are in line for the ride that you have waited all summer to ride and it breaks down. You don't want to leave the line because you have already invested over an hour of your time, so you wait it out. The longer you wait, the more unwilling you are to leave the line for fear that the ride will open and you will have lost your spot. Before you know it, the park closes and they hand you this little piece of paper in return for all of the hard earned money that you spent and for standing in line in the hot sun all day long. You know that you will not be going back this year, so you try to get something back by selling the ticket on Ebay. Maybe your even doing it out of kindness, hoping that someone will have a much better day than you did.

Yes, it is wrong, but I really cannot fault this person. Many people are leaving CP with a really bad taste in their mouths this year. The go to the park to ride a ride that is all hyped up on TV and the radio only to find it closed, or running for a few hours and then closed, or closed and maybe running later. Talk to the GP in the queues, a lot of them are not very happy! Heck, I wasn't very happy after my last trip.

I regret to inform you that Cedar Point's newest roller coaster, Top Thrill Dragster will not be operational today, or tomorrow or probably any day that you decide to visit our park. Please accept our apologies.

I would feel bad for him if he couldn't read, but not because he didn't get to ride.

Who knows it may be a ride, making some extra cash too.

Now tell me Cedar Point is running out of space.

Ticket sold for $26. He'll be lucky if the ride is open when he goes to use the ticket.

It sold? I see that eBay doesn't take notifications of illegal auctions very seriously...

Greg,

Unless they were contacted by CP stating is was an illegal auction, how can they take your word over the word of the seller?

I am not saying the seller is right in what he/she is doing but to eBay, you are not a verified source.

Red, I have them too. Same ones he has. Got them at Coastermania, right? They do say void if sold.

And I do too have the same from Coastermania. I was on there looking at other CP stuff and was shocked to see the two passes on there. What people do these days to make a buck. That is very low.
