TR:TR Anticipation

Dennis,

I saw the pic last night and got a kick out of that. That's great! You haven't changed a bit. LOL!

Only a couple more weeks until most, if not all, of the 'What is Tomb Raider" threads will be history, probably to be replaced with the 'Tomb Raider sucks because it isn't a coaster, a Spiderman 'clone', an enclosed flume, a Hypersonic-type ride, or a scrambler to be ridden nude" thread.

Ah HA! More to add to the puzzle! Thanks to Sean we now know Tomb Raider is going to be an enclosed scrambling Sim Top Spin on Water Coaster track ridden in the nude! Now *that* makes me want to visit PKI - but only if I get to sit next to Sean ;-)

Matthew,

That's...........................just............................wrong. LOL!

Matthew clearly is on a roll today.

-Sean ( Just for that.....more Barry Manilow images for Matthew)

I want a lap bar too! ;)

Seriously, any avoidance of shoulder restraints from a park for a ride is A-Ok for me.

Methinks KKing missed the joke....

Anyway, I still bet someone will have a bowl of "Skyline Chilli" in the line.

LMAO Jeremy! That is just wrong! I think we all know, and can agree with Mamoosh that TR:TR is an enclosed scambler. PKI already has one, so why not another!

I got it 2Hostyl. That smile was supposed to be a wink. After that, I went to the serious nature of real lap bars and my feelings that just to put some type of serious input. I didn't think that was a problem. Since Sean's is already taken, is your lap bar available Jeremy?? Can I call you "Big Foot"?? ;)

Jeremy,

Oh my. A new nickname. What did I do to get that name? Don't answer that.

Talked to the park today. Sounds like everything is in the final stages for opening. It's getting close people!

Leave it to me to take a thread into the trash, eh? At least we all have a sense of humor...that's what this hobby is all about, right?

Tomb Raider: The Ride

Has anyone considered the possibility that the ride will be a Mondial Roll Over rather than a Top Spin? They look and act very similarly, except the Roll Over has independent arms, allowing a greater variety of movements (and thus more programming options).

The Roll Over only seats 40 though, where I remember reading somewhere the capacity was thought to be closer to 75.

Anyway, just a thought.

"Talked to the park today"

How did you manage that? Have close ties? From what I hear the workers already know what the ride is. I guess that isn't that hard to believe. When do you think they will announce it to the public? Wouldn't it be soon?

pkifanatic,

I work with the park regarding ACE (among other things) quite a bit during this time of the year and every once in a while during the off season. Everyone I deal with down there is SUPER and have taught me a number of things about this business. Shaggy can also verify how nice everyone is.

I am sure many workers know what Tomb Raider consists of, but I am betting there are still a lot of people that still don't know. As for announcing the ride to the public, I am not sure when they will do that. My guess is once media day or opening day hits, pretty much everyone on here and other places is going to know all about Tomb Raider: The Ride. I am not sure if the park plans on releasing all the technical details about the ride or not. After all, I am not sure too many people will care to know besides folks like us.

Sean,

I can truly attest that the Paramount's Kings Island Reps are the cream of the crop. Kind, generous, trusting and just all around good folk.

I have to admit to a bit of selfishness about PKI and their ride additions. I have been close to several now and have been fortunate to see them from birth on.... it really is an odd sort of sensation. There is a piece of me that has enjoyed the ongoing speculation of TR:TR. Now that it's opening is around the corner I hate to see the anticipation die.

It is kind of like a relationship... the chase is often the most exciting part.

Now dont get me wrong, I am POSITIVE the ride will rock. But PKI did a fabulous job of wetting peoples appitites. Their success lies in the fact that the people that oversee the park are as fascinated and interested in rides and new experiences just like us.

OK. We all know that is has been said that this is NOT a coaster, but my brother made a comment today which triggered my mind after reading this article: http://www.western-star.com/ws/290007480954136.bsp

The ride could "possible" be an ArrowBatic since it does goe straight down. If you don't know what an ArrowBatic is, check out this Web site: http://www.arrowdynamics.com/rides.php and click on ArrowBatic. You'll need to click on the "play" button, but be patient because at times it doesn't load at first.

**Don't yell at me, this is just wishful thinking. We all will know the truth soon. I can't wait!!**

Its not an Arrowbatic. Nice try, tho. We've got some nice consolation prizes for you. Johnny...tell him what he's won!

LoL @ Mamoosh. Yea an aarow batic could fit in there but it would be going so fast through the themeing
Don`t forget that the park has said it is not a roller coaster. Good thought though!
