I am not one to 'want' anything from a park so I will stay away from that question, but I will honestly say that I think there are going to be a LOT of surprised people around the first days of April.
I also believe there are going to be some people that were 'wanting' something and didn't get it. Perhaps next time they won't expect things they way they did before?
I really am truly excited about riding Tomb Raider. With the direction that PKI has been going the last two years, it seems that they are once again providing something that is totally fun to ride, visually pleasing, and going to bring people into the park to have a good time.

Besides, has anyone else ever been excited just to be waiting (in the queue) for a ride you've been anticipating for months?
In every news story I read, I hear little pieces of info that impress the heck out of me...and to see theming of this quality in my backyard is an exciting concept...

OhiCoaster,
Great post! You pretty just said what I have been trying to tell those that have already 'dismissed' the ride because it wasn't something they had hoped.
Now, I have know problems with anyone stating an opinion about something, but I really don't understand those that automatically have 'bashed' the ride before giving it a chance.
Do I think those same people are going to enjoy the ride when it opens? Maybe, but the way I look at it, the more and more you look at something in a negative way brought on by your own thoughts, the more and more you are depriving yourself of something that could be very special.
A quick story...
When Son of Beast was being built, I was really excited. Not once did I think the ride wasn't going to be fun because of the size. Never crossed my mind. In June of 2000, I got my first ride. At this time, the coaster wasn't running very well,... but ya' know what?.... I still greatly enjoyed it.
While I was standing in line for my first ride, there was a man standing behind me that was going on and on about how rough it was, and the fact that the loop didn't work and should be taken out. I turned around to face him and said,
" Wow! Where did you sit at? Was the loop rough or something?"
The man looks at me and says, " Well, I haven't ridden it yet.........but...."
So, because the man already had hated the ride before he got on it, my guess is he didn't care for it one bit even if it was running great that night.
Out of all the construction tours I did during it's construction, I never once looked at the ride as a possible dud or anything like that. When I posted my updated construction pictures on my web page, I would get e-mails from folks from all over sharing the same enthusiasm. However, I did get a few e-mails from folks that had already said they weren't planning on riding the coaster because it was made of wood, was over 200 feet tall, and had an inversion. I could not figure out why some of these people acted like they had already ridden it, when in fact they hadn't.
So, with that in mind, I say that I think it is possible for people that have already decided to dislike TR: TR to think more positive about it so they can get at least some enjoyment out of it, as long as they look at the attraction for what it is, instead for what it isn't. That way, come opening day, they won't be moaning and whinning about not having a new 400-foot tall coaster in the park.

Jeremy,
I understand people have their own likes and dislikes, but my point was rather directed towards those that have already said the ride was 'lame' because it wasn't what they were hoping it would be. I simply don't understand that way of thinking. Perhaps I am getting too old?
By the way. Are you doing Coastermania this year?
-Sean (who remembers a time when we would see one ride every three years or so...............and would be happy about it)
I think the ride will be great...the only question is will I be able to keep my Rivertown Pizza and Fries down when I ride it !!!
Also, I hope that they don't allow food, drinks and other crap inside the cave. I've seen the messes elsewhere in the park.

I believe I read either here or on URC that there will be no eating or drinking of any kind in TR:TR's queue. I think this will be great as it will cut down on untidy guests, like you mentioned. Also, you won't have to worry about that person bulldozing their way through the queue with dripping Lemon Chills back to their "spot." Emphasis on "spot." Grrr! I also think I read at the same time that there might be other PKI attractions following TR:TR's suit. I'm sorry I can't remember who presented that info so I can give them credit for it.

OCoaster: I'll bet money that there will be food/drinks in the TR line. With the waits that thing is going to draw, they will be hard pressed to disallow beverages. Unless only a small part of the queue is indoors, anticipate vendors with Lemon Chills and Candy Floss.

Besides, if we were really shutting down people we disagreed with, would Jeremy (2Hostyl) still be around? :) I think not. - Jeff 1/24/02
Jeremy,
I also think it is very possible for the park to ban food and drinks while in line. From the sounds of things, the line will be shaded so that will cool guests a bit. I am betting that the park wants to preserve the theming aspect of this ride for a long time and having a ban on food and drink may help that quite a bit. Gum on the other hand...............
I also think there may be areas in one of the buildings (or more) that may prevent the easy collection of debri left by those primative hooligans that have nothing better to do than to drop their waste into an area that clearly isn't designed for waste collection when there are easily marked containers through out the park that are so easily visible, even a empty container of fries would be smart enough to hop right in. (end Dennis Miller mode)
On, and for some reason Jeremy, I thought you lived much closer to the park. DC huh? That is quite a drive.

This really has not much to do with the thread, but I didn't want to start yet another.....
I'm just curious as to how quickly someone will file a TR:TR TR. I can picture the first riders running from the ride to a locker and grabbing their laptops to log on and be the first to file...
VANITY SECTION: hey y'all, check out my cute new profile pic. I found this in my dad's photo album. That's me on the right. No, I didn't ride it. :(
