Don't coasters get stuck on the lift hill all the time? I see Whizzer @ SFGAm get stuck every time I ride the Hometown Fun Macine (scrambler) which is right below it. And then there was the time I got stuck on B:TR's lift. And another time on AE the blue train was stuck and we passed them.

They will get Goliath fixed. You don't just have a malfunction and have it broken forever. Wasn't Jeff on S:ROS when the chain broke? I'm sure if they can get off the ride with a broken chain, they can restart a stalled motor or whatever the problem with Goliath is.

Yep, I was on SFA's Superman when the chain broke. It wasn't really a big deal, and in that case we were off the ride within ten minutes. However, I've been on stopped rides (they're never stuck... just stopped) more times than I can remember. The total includes Villain, Raptor (at least three times), Magnum, Disaster Transport, and Gemini. I'm sure there are others, but most are at Cedar Point since it's obviously the closest park.

The worst thing is if your on the final train of the night and it stops. This happened to me on Goliath. It was cold, and some girls were screaming in my ear.

The ride mechanic on the phone is doing an excellent job of stressing the fact that this is a safety measure and it happens often.Thumbs up to him for not allowing the media to make this out to be a dangerous situation and bad situation.

I find it completely absurd that these news stations are actually covering this "event" live! Sensationalism has run amok on this country's news-media and it's getting to a point where it's almost intolerable. Everyone in the media seems bent on making the industry look bad, and it really needs to end! How many times a day, on average, do you think a coaster train gets stuck on the lift? Alot. How many of those times are people injured? Extremely few, practically none. I just hate how the media handles this stuff. In fact, they *shouldn't* be handling it!

Kinda wish that'd happen to me someday for a change. I ride a lot of coasters, but have never been escorted down the lift hill...

That would be awesome to be stuck at the top. Looks like the people are having a great time. Happy GP/CBs :)

We were just waiting in line Monday for the Titan and saw it get stuck about 1/2 up the lift hill. They had it fixed in no time. That same day we got stuck on the lift hill of the Shockwave. No biggie!

I've also been stuck on numerous lift hills. Never for more than a few minutes, but wouldn't that be terrible if you got stuck/stalled on a coaster and you needed to "go make bears"?

How horrifying!

I didn't see the coverage but how many times during the "incident" did they advertise for Friday's Dateline story about coaster safety? Probably just a big marketing ploy.

Idiots!

Try getting stuck on an elevetor for 45 minutes with about 8 other people! Now that's terrifying!

Actually, I was stuck on an Elevator for about 30 minutes by myself! That was pretty scary. Anyway, I can't believe they decided to show Titan stuck at the top on the news! It sounds like they are just trying even harder to make amusement parks look bad. Rides always get stuck. Big deal.
