Track records are *personal* anyway, so.....

Not sure if this has been asked, but would it be possible to allow us to add "user-defined" coasters...(for instance, portable rides could be added by the user), all they would need is to list a name and location. It's not like it's *validated* by anyone...just a thought.

That wouldn't really be that easy because the coasters are all referenced to entries in the coaster database. Not sure if you know anything about relational data, but for every entry in your track record, there's a database record that has a number that represents your user data and a number that represents the coaster. So in essence, every entry is made up of two numbers, even though you actually see what the ride's name is

Actually, I get paid for what I know about relational databases....just not very well...;). I understand that it couldn't fit in with the *architecture* of the databases for obvious reasons. No counting or compiling would be possible, and I see how it would require some "cobbling" to make that idea work without the standard data items associated with all the other database records...a worthy goal, just not really practical...;)
