Tower of Terror groper caught in on-ride photo at Disney's California Adventure

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

Anaheim police Monday were looking for a man who groped a woman on the Tower of Terror ride at Disney's California Adventure theme park, adjacent to Disneyland. The victim has an on-ride photo showing a man with his hand stretched out toward her.

Is it sad that nothing surprises me anymore?

This is why we need those Lego boobies we talked about in the podcast. :)

Note to self: listen to podcast this evening.

The only mistake the woman made was pushing the hand away. She should have grabbed it and sunk her teeth into it. Would have made it easier to find the suspect, and definitely would have made a more entertaining on-ride photo.

He was just trying to squeeze all the fun he could out of that ride.

So he's been on the ride before and knew the lights dimmed...Which leads me to believe he's been on the ride before. However, he apparently forgot the light's timing and most importantly the camera. What an idiot!

I can see it now, an adult LEGO scene made from the carousel's detailed parts....After the podcast I really want to get back into LEGO's!!

Isn't the ride completely random? If the drops are programmed to be random, wouldn't the light and camera also be randomly timed?

Your right Juggalotus, I forgot about that added computer control.
Doesn't that make this man that much dumber?

Crazier still is that lights out or not, she'd know who did it. She should have screamed bloody murder during the exit.

Only the DHS ToT has a random drop sequence, all the cheaper clones have not had that installed yet.

I hope the police keep us abreast of the status of the investigation.

I don't entirely believe her story. There are video cameras on that ride and I refuse to believe that Disney doesn't record the footage. So why isn't there any mention of video footage showing his actions by the police or Disney?

She also doesn't look as alarmed as I would expect and why wouldn't she make a huge deal out of it as the ride comes to an end so the others can come to her aid? Aren't you supposed to aggressively attack your attacker?

A single photo doesn't tell the entire story.

I don't think sexual imposition is all that funny.

California ALSO does have a random sequence. I hope they don't install shoulder harnesses because of this.

Um, no. Not at all actually.

honk honk, passing on the right!!

For the record, the California Adventure ride does not have a random drop sequence.

But even if it was random doesn't the photo happen at the beginning of the sequence? That is to say the photo happens as the random sequence begins - which means the photo still happens at the same time every time.

Or am I way off?

The one in Florida has the picture somewhere in the middle. Most of the times it is before the final drop, but there is a sequence where you get to the video screen and instead of seeing the swirling vortex the ghosts beckon you over and you have another sequence of drops and lifts.
