Topic leads to 404

When I click on the Mario Kart topic I get a 404 sometimes. I did a hard refresh and it was better for one click, but then reverted to giving me a 404.

Edit: Also the Cedar Fair revenue post is doing it now, too.

That's pretty weird. No matter how much I refresh, I can't get the same.

It is doing it for me on the Cedar Fair thread as well, but not the Mario Kart thread. Tried on both Chrome and Firefox.

Weird. I get it too on all the topics in News Discussion, but only after I've clicked on them, then hit back, and click on them again.

That's interesting, and implies something weird about the last read time checking.

This is really bizarre. I just clicked on the Knoebels pay rate thread and the first reply was missing. I thought maybe PhantomTails deleted his post, so I backed out and clicked in it again and the first two posts were gone. Every time I backed out and entered again, the next successive post was gone. Kept doing it until they were all gone and just the news blurb was visible; looked like no one had replied yet. Did it one last time and get the 404.

Strange things are afoot at the Circle K.

Now, after my reply above, I can see all the replies in the Knoebels thread. And I just recreated the exact scenario...each time the previously oldest visible post goes away.

Just happened to me on the Mario Kart article at 1:45PT (4:45 ET), Chrome Browser

I figured it out. I naively changed the way it handles news topics and associates them with news, and that broke it by messing with what was cached. Not my best moment. Should be OK now.

can confirm it works for me now, 4:25 PT
