Top Thrill Dragster: What a station!

Don't you need a month of testing on a coaster? Scream isn't even finished being built yet, and April 10 is a month & 1 day away.

Speaking of which, TTD should start testing pretty soon.

Wow, 7 flags. Whoop-de-doooo! Let's celebrate some flags. lol. You people scare me. Let's go ride a set of flags......no. I mean come on people. Let's focus on the actual ride, here.

Batwing Count : 9

We've been focusing on the ride since May 2002.

You know what scares me? People that actually count how many laps they have on Batwing! Yikes! :-p

And coasteroid, there is no set amount of time a coaster needs to be tested. The length is determined by when they complete all their checks. Prototype technology, such as X or Deja Vu, or Xcelerator will require longer periods of testing time, whereas a tried and true B&M floorless will not need as much time. That's why they can open it in a month from today.

Do they do pull throughs for B&M? I remember reading somewhere they don't! Or is it up to the park. If they don't, then its possible to open earlier. As stated work above is checked out.

Evolution is wrong!
I think Xcelerator must still be in its testing stages then. Those Intamins don't seem to be designed very well, but CF keeps buying them. Let's hope that TTD actually works without any unforseen design flaws like Wicked Twister and Xcelerator.

It's Giant, it's Inverted, it's a Boomerang, Beeyatch!

I wouldn't say that Xcelerator has design flaws. Just reliablility issues that most Intamins and prototypes have. Look at X and Deja Vu. Both took quite a while to figure out, but at this point both are running relatively well.

I have a feeling, though I could be wrong, that once Xcelerator returns from its rehab, we will see a significant difference in the amount of downtime. I think that Intamin and Knott's might finally get the chance to implement a few fixes for the bugs in the ride during this downtime, in addition to the support addition.

As far as I can tell, it seems like most prototype Intamins take about a year before they are all figured out and become as reliable as everything else.

The Xcelerator problems seem to be more with the control systems rather than the ride. I assume they will fix the bugs :) Luckly, they said Dragster will have a completely different control system!

Always one ahead of Six Flags! That should be Cedar Point's slogan for the 2003 season. It wouldn't be any worse than the commercials that SFWoA ran last year...

CPGenius, If you are #1 in a region, you don't mention #2...it only gives them name recognition.

However, if you are #2, you mention and try to say you're better than #1 because your name is still "out there" and perhaps someone will believe they hype and come to your place instead (or go to both to judge for themselves).

I meant it as a slam to SFWoA ad campaign last year...which obviously didn't work. Of course CP wouldn't do it because they have no reason to. SFWoA's ad last year either backfired or is proof that bad customer service can be devistating to guest satisfaction.
