Top Thrill Dragster: What a station!

In case you haven't checked out the webcam today, they have put the flags up that are on top of the station. I can't wait till May 4!

Yes, it's shaping up really nicely. Two months to go. :)

"Run Betty! The giant chicken's sticking to the pan"!

Why is there more excitement over the station than the ride itself. I'm not really to excited to see 7 blank red flags up on a pole I'm sorry.

They're not just 7 blank flags on poles, they are Top Thrill Dragster flags!

I can't wait to ride that thing.... It is goin to be so sweet!!!;)
------------------
In the year of 2050 they will have coasters over 1000 ft. I bet you my life... (and i will be 89 then and will be the first to right it.)
Wow... they added flags to the station!

Exciting stuff these days...

Am I really that shy?

Notice the 7 flags...? That is the same number at the park entrance as well. That's no accident.

I've loved the cantilever station design because it's so unique and its aesthetics look great! It's getting even better now that they have erected the structure.

It's still me, here from the beginning back in 1999. Add 1500+ posts to the number I have in the info section if you care about such things.

Monty Jasper said the station would be cool-looking, and I agree. The flags aren't really exiting, though.

Well, I used to be able to see TTD from my house, then I moved.
Life's not fair.

I can't wait for May 4th either!

Well, the coaster helps a bit too. (It's my birthday :) )

7 flags - a stab at Six Flags? Maybe? I don't know, I'm just in a conspiracy theory sort of mood. You know, with that BS advertisement they had last year, I wouldn't consider anything out of the picture, or below the belt.

Alright, sorry, sorry. Didn't want to start a SF vs. CP flamewar here.

Actually sort of reminds me of the Xcelerator station. Not exactly, but a similar, open, idea. It is really impressive though. CP has a way with making simplistic, yet very effective station designs.

Seven flags? I've always associated Cedar Point with FIVE pennants...it's at the front gate, in one of their older logos, in a newer version of an old logo.......

But of course. Got to make sure all of the flags are waving freely in the wind in a choreographed state. :)

Arena football has arrived in the Windy City. Go "Chicago Rush"

7 Flags, haha, I wonder if management was actually thinking about that, like some inside joke. We have 1 more flag than 6 Flags and soon to be 1 more coaster than 6 Flags (depending on which coaster opens first).

Scream! is supposed to and should open first.

Is it really? Darn I was hoping TTD would, oh well. Do you know when Scream is opening?

Did anyone notice the flags are stiff? They are all the same and never change even after the page is refreshed.

Opening day for Scream! is scheduled for April 10th.

I thought that was the date for Media Day for Scream! Unless they open their coasters to the public after the Media Day festivities are over.

Anyhoot, back to TTD, the station is definitely one of the coolest looking at CP. ANd the more I think about it, the less I care if you can't pick where you sit because the trains are so short, as is the ride. Sure, I'll want front row for my first ride and probably will be my favorite row, but the ride is over so quickly it won't bug me to not get the seat I want. Whereas with MF, I *really* want the front more than anything, to feel that sustained speed!

You're probably right Joe. I didn't read all the way down on this News Item... http://www.coasterbuzz.com/2003-62-484510.htm Moosh!! :)

Looks like 11th or 12th might be opening day according to this poster.
