I've seen several posts from creators on TikTok suggesting that Top Thrill 2 might be facing another extended closure. I was wondering if there's any truth to these claims.
If this is the case, it makes me wonder if the frequency of train cycling could be a contributing factor. When the original Top Thrill Dragster operated with five trains, they seemed to spend more time in the loading/unloading process than actually cycling the course.
I'm curious if a design that incorporated a longer "rest period" between cycles for the trains might lead to improved performance and reliability.

I also saw it was closed the past 2 days, but have not seen or heard any speculation about the cause or length of the closure.
Not only did the number of trains, provide a longer rest period between cycles on Dragster, the trains themselves were not going over 100 mph for as long as they do on the new Top Thrill 2.
I'm interested to hear how the Falcon's Flight trains hold up when it begins testing. I remember back in the early 2000's the thought of coasters traveling over 100 mph for any length of time seemed far fetched because of the heat of the wheels. Then again, a lot of things that have become common on coasters nowadays seemed impossible back then.
I don't have any real knowledge of what is going on aside from it being down the last two days and that today, there were some ropes/wires suspended from the rear spike fairly high up. There is also a pretty large crane that showed up in the parking lot today. My guess is it will be making its way to the spike tower shortly after park closing tonight.

Supposedly a ride mechanical on reddit (who was 'verified') said the issue was a crack in a support column on the tower that will be repaired/welded shortly (and pictures have surfaced of a crane on site). So seems to jive.
Sounds like just a few days for the repair. Nothing long term unless more stuff is found.
And Tony said it's probably opening tomorrow.
It's almost as if content creators on Tik Tok are just looking for likes and attention.
