Top 10 Dumbest CEO's dicisions (includes Kinzel)

Pretty funny comment from Dick Kinzl from Cedar Fair read below in the link. And I know we dont use "Top" threads but this just a minor blurb about a coaster.

Army Rangers lead the way

that's really bizarre to hear a CEO make a negative comment to a nationally publicized website about a ride that is still operating at a park he runs...but i do tend to agree with him.

Hmm, I like that ride better than Iron Dragon, Corkscrew, Mean Streak and Blue Streak. As evidenced by the always-long line, even on uncrowded days, so do many people.

A day is a drop of water in the ocean of eternity. A week is seven drops.

Or mayhaps its because of its horrible capacity and proximity to the front of the park. If it was such a bad decision, why not just remove it and send it to another ride starved park.

HINT: It's the air conditioning.

DT is one of the most boring rides I've ever been on, and now without the special effects it's even worse.

But can you name another "in-the-dark" coaster that's actually in the dark? As in, can't see your hand in front of your face dark?

I can't believe he said that. But if it's true, all I have to say is you go Dick, it's your birthday..... Dog ride???? What the hell is that supposed to mean? I didn't wait in line for "Disaster Transport" on opening day, but I can imagine I would have felt like I just royally got screwed if I did.....

I remember a similar comment he made about Disaster Transport several years ago (I'm paraphrasing)...

It may not be the most thrilling coaster in the park, but its gets a vote of "unique" by me. How many other completely enclosed bobsled rides are there?

I waited a good 30 minutes to get on it when I visited CP last year.

Like I said, nothing thrilling, but its different.

This is why the PR folks get nervous when the press talks directly to Dick. :)

DELETED! What time does the water show start?

And why is that? Is he the type that just tells it like it is? :)

But the coaster is not that bad. It has it's audience. I actually like the roller coaster because it's a fun ride. Not scary, just fun.

I agree with Jephry. It is a fun ride and a classic to me. A visit to CP is not complete without it. :)

I'm going to have to agree with Den. In a park with mostly mediocre coasters (minus MF, TTD, WT, Magnum, Raptor, and Gemini), I think it's a headliner with its own unique fun and charm... A Cult Coaster Classic (tm) if you will.

I wouldn't want the park to remove it either since it's the only completely enclosed ride in the entire park. I always like to find at least one enclosed attraction and SFWOA at least has Bermuda Triangle. It would be nice if there were more actually if thunderstorms were off and on all day when you were visiting. Disney and Universal are built around indoor attractions and I'm lucky PKI has Tomb Raider, Flight of Fear, Scooby Doo, and SpongeBob.

I've always thought an indoor/outdoor dueling mouse would be fun. The mainly indoor one would peek outdoors and the outdoor one would find its way inside (maybe tunnels) here and there. Mouse Hysteria (tm)! :)

Coaster Insomniacs- Coastin' the Night Away

I thought that Disaster Transport was pretty neat...not a lifechanger, but it was cool. especially that dropping turn where they have the white lights spinning, making it seam like you're moving faster and faster. also pretty smooth braking for a bobsled compared to Rolling Thunder from SFGAm

I am Turbo.
Top Thrill in the front row... anything else is lame

I belive they should ditch all the crappy glow in the dark paint from last year, and just go with black walls with black lights in the que, turn of every single damn light during the ride and call it the black hole, because what light is left ruins the effect, and why say "welcome to Alaska" when the whole theming on why your in Alaska has been gone for like 6 years??

Koaster King - if the park has mainly mediocre coasters... minus SIX, I'd say they're in pretty good. :)

I love Disaster Transport. I also love the complete tongue-in-cheek way that it was done (at least, I hope that was the plan) with all the campiness. It makes me laugh... I hope that's the right way to feel...

And it is probably one of the darkest coasters I've been on. I can't speak for the ol' FOF clones, but between Rockin' Roller Coaster and the two American Space Mountains, it is EASILY the darkest (save for, of course, the scenes.)

The thing that annoys me about Disaster Transport is how they are saying it's in "3-D" now. So then they tell people to buy these 3-D glasses and that will make all the difference, no I didn't buy them, but I heard several people complaining as they exited because they had bought them and things weren't THAT "3-D".

Disaster Transport is in the beginner line-up for young enthusiasts. That goes the same for ID, WC, CCMR. These smaller coasters are very important to those afraid of heights. It's kind of a build-up to make that feared person stronger to take on larger coasters at the Point.
