Number 5 Steel was Magnum
Number 5 Wood was Raven
Number 4 Steel was Nitro
Number 4 Wood was Thunderbolt
Number 3 Wood was Ghostrider
Number 2 Steel was a Tie between Millie and Goliath hence no number 3
Number 2 Wood was Son of Beast
Number 1 Steel was Incredible Hulk
Number 1 Wood was The Beast
I think that was right although Sonny and Gostrider might have been switched around.

Did you guys catch the Today Show's Top 10 list?

4.Magnum XL 200
5.Raptor
6.Beast
7.Montu

the irony is overwhelming....sure. Millie and "the Big G" are tied for my #2 spot, and Nitro certainly ranks right up there as my fav Beemer...but if Hulk is really the #1 steelie on the planet I gotta get myself down to IOA more often....;).....still lovin' that Ride of Steel.....FWIW, I love Maggie, but think it's ranking may also have been bumped up a bit due to location and nostalgia.....
the wooden rankings - well, I *think* PKI may have "caught a break" on those due to their (rightful) claim as the king of American wood...actually, being Cincy, I *should* say the QUEEN of America's wood....Queen City and all....

I've only been to Univ. Islands once (going again in August) but the lines were non-existant since it was for the Pitt-NCState Bowl Game which is practically in the middle of winter (and pretty soon after Sept. 11) and I rode Hulk more than 5 times that day. I wasn't really all that impressed. Sure its got loops and the accel at the top of the hill is cool, but i don't think it's better than Magnum or Millenium (in that order). Anyone else agree?
After Shivering Timbers, X, and Xcelerator over the next few weeks, I guess the "big ones" for me will be Titan, The Boss, S:RoS at SFNE.....Of course, there's still Big Chief's and Silverwood, too......and those parks/rides across the pond.
....call me Ahab.....;)

Is it true its always happy hour here? If it is I'd like to stay a while....
I agree with the Shy One about Goliath. It's personally a top 5 steel coaster, but how is it better than Titan? I would think an exact copy with even more added to it should be the better ride. I've never ridden it, but it couldn't be worse. It's all about the media markets. SoCal parks get a lot of tv time, same goes for Florida and CP. Even though Dallas is a huge city, it's just not the tourist destination that SoCal is. Hence Goliath is tied for #2 and Titan is a no-show.
One thing I liked about the steel coasters was how the different companies were represented. Aside from Hulk they were all hyper or giga coasters with each one having a different designer. I say get rid of Hulk and give me a Morgan just to round things out.
I am sorry, but I do not see how Shivering Timbers was not on this program. It really made me steam. Shivering Timbers IS easily a top 5 wooden coaster. But oh well, go get 'em next year Shibby!
