Tomb Raider: A plausible idea!

I was thinking last night about TR:TR and I had the most amazing idea. Do you rember those ATV tihngs that were both a boat and car in the movie? What if this ride was simaler to  Rhino Ralley? It would be about the price range the park is saying if it was inclosed. But just imagine driving threw the jungle's at high speeds and plunging into a river. anyone want to giv eme some comments's, shoot down my idea? I think it sounds cool!

That would be pretty sweet but I am not sure if it is probable, rhino Rally is pretty unique and has been having some difficulties. rhino rally also takes up quite a large portion of land, I believe 12 acres, the box which will contain TR:TR isn't even close to that size. I would love to see that happen but it is highly unlikely.

Well, as I would love a Rhino-rally style attraction, It looks to be like that building is going to house an elaborately themed European flat ride.
That's definitly a different idea than what we have been hearing before. I was happy to open this and not see some jabbering about a 100 mph Thrust Air or something :). While it would fit into the immersive description the park gave, it would not fit into the 'never-before-seen' category. Also, BGT seemed to have a good bit of problems with Rhino Rally.

The area is far to small for something like that.  I'm guessing a Huss Jump2, but that's only a guess.

LMAO...most of the problems with RR have been BGT's employees' inability to drive!  I did go earlier this year though when the "bridge portion" was out, try again next week or so.  As for TR:TR, Huss Giant Top Spin in a cleverly themed box seems likely, but the queue may turn out to be as good as the ride itself...

Like many people said, it is not a top spin so it is not a top spin.

It is not even close to top spin, it is not a top scan, it is not a splashover.

The Ride may have track but it is not a coaster.

Tomb Raider: The Ride coming in 2002 only at Paramount's Kings Island!

I have a question, will TRTR's queue line be underground?

It seems logical that it would be an EMV ride like Indiana Jones.
Thats what I think of when i think of tomb raider: the ride.
Why would it be a flat ride? Huss flat rides are interesting, but it doesn't seem right for this attraction concept.

CoasterFanMatt, the building doesn't allow for that type of attraction. The building is a box, almost exactly square, and has only one floor.  Although I think an EMV would be great, it's not likely.

Derek, The line is not underground.  The queue building is already in place and there has already been some aesthetic work done.  You'll see some stone work in the new construction pics this weekend.

Its a Mondial Inferno isn't it?? Don't really understand why or how PKI can put one of these indoors and theme it.....

http://www.fab.lu/uk/products/inferno.html

Whatever flat "ride" TR:TR ends up being will have the novelty of it stripped if any other type "ride" like it is built anywhere else in the world.  I can hear it now "Yeah, this is the same type of thing that TR:TR is, except theirs in indoors"

I'm trying to remain optimistic about all this, I really am.  However, the area they have to work this "magic" is quite small.

I rode "X" and never went upside down.

I'm willing to bet anything that it'll be a Huss in a box. Now to me, the question of WHAT Huss ride it will be is more interesting than ATVs or TA2Ks. The ride is going into a small space, so anything with 'track' I think is probably out of the question.

My first guess would be a Super Frisbee over a Top Spin for two reasons. One: all seats face outward, giving a person a better sensation of flying straight up or falling straight down than a Top Spin. Two: I believe Canada is getting one. Usually Paramount likes their installations in twos, with the exception of their 'signature' rides (IE Sonny, HXLC, Stealth, etc). Most of the recent announcements by the parks have been mostly of rides that have been done elsewhere in the chain (IE Ricochet / PGA's mouse). I believe that if anyone is to get a signature ride in the chain next year, it would be PGA again.

And actually, this time, I might actually be looking forward to the theming over the ride for the first time. Can't wait to see what they do.

Chris

But why take out a Water Flume ride of substantial size, that occupied a lot of land, to put in an enclosed flat ride????????
The answer is... they wouldn't.

We know that there will be more to it than that (if it is indeed a flat ride).  Apparently millions of dollars more.

This is the first ride I've been really excited about in a long time - mostly because of the intrigue.

All I know, is that if it is a flat ride in a box, why did they start constructions so early?  I`m sure PKI hasn`t told us all of the details which could drasticlly change the way we think of the ride.  Also, they may have taken out a large flume ride to replace it with another smaller ride to make way for a larger expansion in the future, or maybe Tomb Raider:The Ride is that expansion and they haven`t revealed everything yet!

Maybe they were going to do some elaborate moving themed ride somewhat like Spiderman, but since the movie flopped they decided instead to spend less money on the ride by building a flat ride in a box in order to lose less money on the whole TR endeavor.  And yes I do believe the movie flopped, the 24 cine down the road from me dropped it pretty quick for all the hype that surrounded it, yet they are still running Pearl Harbor.
Just so you know, I do believe that whether or not a movie made by Paramount Pictures makes money or not as nothing to do with how Paramount Parks spends money on rides.  They each have their seperate budgets.

mabey there is still more to be built? Could there be another building, or could soemthing be out side? The only thing I keep thinking is the building looks small. How big is it in relationship to other buildings at PKI? Is it as big as the motion theater? (where 7th portal is)

coastersrz, I was just kidding.  But I'm praying that it's not a flat ride, I don't are how well themed it is, it's still just a flat ride.
