I don't believe anyone can say that Titan will be better or worse than any ride until its build, running and you have ridden.

Titan is a clone… period. Technically Titan is a “customized” clone since the layout remains the same as its predecessor but with an additional feature that gives riders a variant from the original. I’m not going to make any assumptions on whether or not the size of the drop is larger since the park management of SFOT appears to be pussyfooting around the issue just like the folks over at SFMM did last year. If Titan is indeed bigger… fine, all the better. Just gives me another excuse to save some extra cash for a visit to SFOT this summer.
{Walking away, thinking how stupid some people are.}

Wait a minute Goliath 2K2, aren't the brakes pretty tight on Goliath? I don't get your point. And to say Titan will be crappy is a bunch of baloney. It will give a ride very similar to Goliath, with an extra helix, so how can it be worse? You and Jephry need to keep your petty comments to yourselves.

Thank you Disney, thank you...
In my personal opinion, Titan is basically a clone of Goliath, just as X-Flight is basically a clone of Stealth. For Titan, it has an extra helix. Every single other element on the ride is exactly the same. That's why I choose to call Titan "cloned, with an exception" when talking with my friends. It's not like I'll be experiencing something *completely* different than Goliath when I hop aboard Titan in May.
For X-Flight, it has the *exact* same first half of the ride, just corks are taken in the flying postition and it has an extra helix. So maybe it's a little further away from Stealth than Titan is of Goliath.
Either way, people can have any opinion of Titan being a clone (or not) without you biting their heads off. It seems to be TX locals who have so much pride in this coaster that are on the anti-clone bandwagon, and that's great. You should be proud of your coaster. Shy One, are you a Texan by any chance?
Lastly, about the stats for Goli...er, I mean Titan (;)) I've never understood why parks would *UNDER*hype their newest attraction. Lone Star Thrills says it will have a 280' drop at 88mph. Why on Earth would they not promote it that way? Does this sound rediculous to anyone else but me?

Good point! Would you guys stop pulling my chain? Does the coaster drop 280ft or not?

Thank you Disney, thank you...
I'll Be there come March 12th..Now I'm really pumped
My question is..will it be open and functional by March 12th??

From what I've read, they want it open when the park opens on March 3. That'd be about 23 days left...I'm going to put money that says it won't be open March 3, any takers? ;)

"SFOT doesn't have the best steel and wooden coasters and never will! Paramounts Kings Island has the best wooden coasters and when X,DeJa Vu are finished SFMM will have the most coasters and the best steel coasters!(And yes Superman The Escape is a coaster!!!!)The brakes are going to ruin your crappy titan!!!!Big G is way better. "
Ok now i don't want to be mean.
But this is possibly the worst. Least Thought Out, Untrue & stupidist post i have ever seen on any coaster board.
1) in YOUR opinion they have the best woodies.
in most other peoples park lists none of there woodies are at #1.
2) SFMM will have the most coasters. But lets be honest who really cares.
SF should spend more time on making classic coasters more than just building them in a rush.
Y get those 3 coasters when you could get a brilliant steel coaster that would really stick in peoples minds long after it was built?
It seems silly to me.
but once again thats just My opinion
3) How can you say Titan won't be as good as Goliath? Have you ridden it? if not then how exactly can you say that? i would really like to know this.
Yes titan is basicly a clone of goliath. but good for texas. they wanted a hyper and there getting a pretty good one to be honest.
Id be happy if any park round me got a hyper.
so don't be so petty
sorry if this offended anyone but it seems people are going over the top.
Goliath is a red apple. Titan will be a red apple with a streak of yellow. Interpret this in anyway you choose. That's all I gotta say.
Very well said Roomraider! I can just feel the excitement down there in Texas and I can't wait to get down there in April to ride Titan. While Goliath does have some weaknesses, it's a great ride. Titan can only be better with the extra helix. Also, in my opinion, SFOT is the best SF park in the US, much better than SFMM, and SFMM is my home park. I love my homepark, but SFOT is a slice of heaven! ;)

Sorry about my dumb stupid post.Next time i'll keep those things to myself.

"It's DeJa Vu all over again at the mountain"
I just want to know why every single news or rumor post here turns into a debate about the best coasters in the world...
Titan is as much a clone of Goliath, as the S:ROS at SFNE is a clone of S:ROS at SFDL. They are the same company, and look the same until the bottom of the first drop.
Clone or no clone Titan's roughly 1500 miles closer to me than Goliath, which makes it all good to me! Now where the hell is that fast forward button...
this rollercoaster is very good and it will be better than goliath
Wow! For it to be a "clone", a lot of people have ridden it and liked it. Some people should just shut up about the whole clone thing...it doesn't matter. They are coasters and are fun whether there is one exactly like to a few hundered miles away. This is what the GP has up on most "enthusiants." They're just there to have fun and couldn't care less whether it even similar to another ride at another park.
