Tired of Vekoma (it's not what you think...read)

Well, it's official: I can't ride Deja Vu. It has just been announced that you have to be under 6'4" to ride deja vu. I am too tall. This company never fails to piss me off. I am so stinking tired of rides that tall people can't ride. It's flat out ridiculous. It is really getting old, and you'd think that in an era where people are taller, companies would strive to build rides everyone can ride. My brother can't ride anything Vekoma makes anymore (SLC, Deja Vu, flying coasters...) It is just plain stupid. At least X doesn't have a maximum height restricition. How do you know for certain theres a Maximum height requirement. Where did you get your info from?

This is the first I've seen of this. Up until now, it only said you had to be taller than 54 inches. Then they add this 6'4" nonsense. *sigh* I was REALLY looking forward to riding this one.
You would think Vekoma would try to make a coaster for tall people to ride. I'm scared that I'll be too tall to ride X-Flight when I go this summer.

Let the bears pay the Bear Tax, I pay the Homer Tax.
Hmmm, interesting. Only reason why I think they made a maximum height requirement was because the loop is over the station house, I think.

Is this height requirement the same for all the Deja Vu's?
I've heard riding as a taller than reccommended height person on an invert is pretty scary, I was looking at that Anaconda(pics) one day(South Africa) and it looks like it would be a guatanteed amputation if you were too tall, although I thought too tall was rare, I know now it's not. That's sad, maybe in the future they can have inserts or something to the seats, kind of like with the extra belts on Volcano for larger guests, kind of raise your clearance, so to speak.
Yep.

I'm going to be at CP July 10th & 11th. I'll be at SFWOA the 12th of July. See you there!
I swear that if you are too tall, your head would be chopped off in the tunnel on the Grizzly.

Woohoo, woohoo!
6'4" is not really that tall. European coaster companies should be thinking about the shapes of people in which the majority of their coasters end up.

I totally agree. I'm 6 foot 2, and there are many ride that I am very uncomfortable on. If there are regulations for handicap access, what makes tall people any different? (I'm not saying that tall people are handicapped, just that everyone should be able to ride)

I can hear it now:
"Sorry, this coaster is not made for you. Everyone else, but not you."
Fat and Tall people are always discriminated against on certain rides...

V2 at SFGAM does not list the MAX height on their website but it is 6'8" according to the park signs. I seriously doubt a 6'5" person would be comfortable in that harness.

Welcome to Deja Vu...home of the world wide wait.
If it matters at all, we tall people can blame it on the short people. This is because if it wasnt for short people, us tall people wouldnt know we were tall!

Yeah, that's how you should look at the situation...NOT!
Hey S:ROS at SFA has a max height limit too because of the first helix. Hey you might not be able to ride some roller coasters, but you can play basketball!:) (If someone asks you as a tall person if you play basketball, just say "No, do you play minature golf?)
SCREW VEKOMA AND THEIR ANTI-TALL WAYS!
