Timestamp in News posting is wrong

I just posted a reply in the Roy Disney resignation news thread and it says it was done at 8:27pm - it currently is 2:27PM CT.

ANd before you ask, I have set my time zone to 6 - Central...

Also, the timestamps in the Forums are fine. *** Edited 12/1/2003 8:30:25 PM UTC by redman822***

2:27 PM CST = 8:27 PM GMT

CST = 6 hours behind GMT

Looks normal to me.

yes, but the new version of the site is supposed to covert the post times to local time - or at least that is what I thought Jeff stated previously.

The time for the news item post is right, the replies are not.

....weird thing, this has come up across other sites I visit, and only recently, where all of a sudden times are converted to GMT automatically....MOST of them were located within the US.

Are we going international all of a sudden and I was left off "the list" of people to inform? Gotta wonder if it was an oversight, ROFL....

Personally, I'd prefer if ALL times were converted to EST/EDT....;)

You still have Zoidberg.... You ALL have Zoidberg! (V) (;,,;) (V)

Actually, the forum engine is one of the few that accounts for daylight savings for you (for both US and the EU countries, which are different formulas). Most require you to change it yourself twice a year. You can set it in your profile.
