Well, it's not particularly accurate and it's not particularly reflective of the coaster community as a whole, but...I dunno, it has nice pictures?

What I find most sad is the fact that the people who made this poll probably never even went on all of them. I can picture it now. They went on wikipedia looked up most of the record breakers and then rode them on youtube :)

Guess they never heard of wood...
I love how the CI Cyclone is their graphic for the sidebar link, though. I clicked on it hoping to get their list of top 10 woodies. Ah well.
Wow, someone really spent a lot of time on this list...
step 1: google "tallest roller coasters."
step 2: google "fastest roller coasters"
step 3: pick random hyper coaster (Titan, really???)
step 4: combine lists
I call Cedar Point my home park even though I live in the Chicago Suburbs.
Goes to show how off base the mass media is when it comes to coasters!!!
I MIGHT have forgived them if they had Knoble's Twister or the Yankee Cannoball on the list. ;)
Coaster Junkie from NH
I drive in & out of Boston, so I ride coasters to relax!
I am a noted fan of Titan...and it doesn't make my top ten steel (anymore). But in my top ten coasters overall...look to Paula's comment for a big hint. ;)
I find it hilarious that Goliath AND Titan appeared on that list, separate.
I mean, they might as well have just done this:
1. Kingda Ka
2. Steel Dragon 2000
3. Batman The Ride (St. Louis)
4. Top Thrill Dragster
5. Dodonpa
6. Thunder Dolphin
7. Batman The Ride (San Antonio)
8. Dragon Khan
9. Batman The Ride (Atlanta)
10. Nemesis
And why just those two Batmen? Heck, why two at all?
Also, I've heard Thunder Dolphin is a huge bore.
Oh well...thanks the for laugh, Time!

Time managed to include 2 of, Mitch Hawker's Top 10, steelies on their list. Not bad I guess. Still, it does look like the writer just went with what is tallest, and/or fastest; 2 criteria that really don't sell a good steel coaster in my opinion.
They didn't fact check either, Batman the Ride at SFGAm was the first B&M inverted built not Nemesis. It open in 1992 two years before Nemesis did. Quality journalism!
I have to say, Thunder Dolphin's placement is pretty freakin cool going over buildings and hugging roofs.
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
Check out a POV...placement seems to be about the only cool thing about it. I especially love the second pass over the roof where the train slowly negotiates the elongated trick track: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.....
They should have replaced "Top" with "Most Extreme", then I can agree with this list more. Top, never. I don't think any of those coasters are on my top 10 list (doesn't help I haven't ridden 1/2 of them, but I digress). I mean really, Dodonpa? REALLY?
I think Titan's a little out of place now. I had the pleasure of riding it the first year it opened before they trimmed it out. It was really intense in the helix up to the blocks. Even then I would rank it mediocre at best. Steel Dragon, that things still running....
Thunder Dolphin looks really fun, imho.
Most of the time, "journalists" don't write about things that they know or care about. Sometimes it is just a job to them.
