Timberliner Testing resumes on the Voyage

While disappointing, Not totally surprised but there's a lot of things many don't know that aren't being address in some of the mean replies.

HW isn't out anything except some time and work and a little bit of disappointment's from mostly enthusiast only, and will be successful in the end with Timberliners. TGG got a chance to test their product on the most extreme and found what needed to make them better, stronger, safer.

The test train had many mods and its probably best they get two new ones, That and the fact TGG has to come up with 7 new ones for their new coasters

Both parties have benefited from the arrangement over the years, and both are commited to each's well being.

What mean replies are you talking about? It looks like everyone who has posted is thrilled that the PTCs are staying for now. Read and comprehend, Chuck...

Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

I wasn't talking about just this board. Sorry for not clarifying......

It's probably not your place to be talking in "factual" terms about a business relationship you have no part in.

Did I say TGG said? Or HW said? No. Therefore Opinion, weather you like it or not. Its certainly no secret both parties have had a great working relationship for what now? 20 years?

Seriously Jeff, You'd never talk to me in person the way you do to me and some others on this site. But whatever. It's your site.

Im here because of good friends who frequent this site and share a love of parks as I do. If Im so bad for it or annoy you so much. Ban me.

Dude, you don't know me. If you did, you'd know that I'd have no issue calling you out in person. Don't make it about me.

It is not your place, and you are not qualified to make statements about what is or isn't an issue with Gravitykraft's or Holiday World's product, especially when it comes to issues around safety or durability. You aren't an engineer, and you don't speak for either company. People have been sued for less. Don't be that guy.

We intend to introduce Voyage’s Timberliner trains at the start of the 2012 season.

Happy St. Patrick's Day! Paula

That's fine with me. I am patient. ;) I was kind of hoping they would be ready but I wasn't expecting it. I would rather you guys be 100% comfortable with them.

I plan on doing my usual one or two rides per ERT on Voyage at Holiwood Nights. Hopefully it will be more depending on what my body lets me get away with. :)

I'm glad we are finally going to HW this year, and I will be able to ride the ride with PTC's.

Thanks for the many kind and understanding posts. We (obviously) agree we made the right decision. It's really important to us that we operate both Voyage and Raven at top capacity. We plan to do that this season and each season to come.

I am a little disappointed that the Timberliners won't be ready. I do understand that 99% of the guests probably won't notice a difference if the trains switched, but 99% of the guests would notice if the Voyage has long lines or even worse, is closed due to difficulties with the trains.

Thanks for letting us know Paula :) HW never ceases to amaze me with how GREAT they can take an existing situation, no matter what it is.

So we gotta wait to ride Timberliners on Voyage, but can enjoy the wild thing one more year :)

You going to HWN, Billy? :)

As a business person, the decision makes logical sense to me. As a coaster person, I actually think I might attend HWN again and bring some friends that have NEVER ridden TV, just so I can see the look on their faces. :)

Thanks for the update Paula.

Fever I really enjoy the Simpsons. It's just a shame that I am starting to LOOK like Homer.

Roughly 73% of our Facebook fans refer to the new trains as "carts," so your point is well taken. :)

i am glad to hear that they will wait and make the top of the line trains for the top of the line coaster even better. It will be a very high bar to beat. I cant wait but I can :-)

As much as I'm anticipating riding the 'New Voyage', I just hope the thing is running as good as it was last HWN because I absolutely loved it more than ever. I'm not upset at all. Still anxious to ride the Timberliners, but not upset.

Tek: A bunch of new cars, a bunch of old cars getting the full off-season treatment that they didn't get last year, a seventh car on each train, and the usual complement of Holiday World-grade maintenance, and I can't see much chance of it NOT running at least as well as it did last Spring.

And if they're not testing the Timberliner during the preceding week with corn-filled ballast tanks, then maybe the tunnels will smell better!

Here's hoping for tunnels free of rotting corn this year! :)

The corn smell is actually the first thing that comes to mind when I think about the Voyage now. The second is riding in pitch black and getting slammed around. Both are good memories.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

I would be dissapointed in a ride without the corn smell. It's all I know!
