Thunderhead Takes Top Woody spot after only two weeks of service!

Folks, this is simply the best woody built in the last twenty years at least. It will steal the #1 on the Wood list this year.

I would just say that it is ONE of the best woodies built....EVER! Most woodies built in the last 20 years can't even begin to hold a candle to this one.

I'm really excited to finally ride Thunderhead this weekend, but I'm avoiding 'anticipointment' by downplaying it in my mind. However, I do plan on getting a Dollywood pass and returning Sunday morning!

I am happy to see that a park finally contracted GCI to build a coaster with all the elements that a great ride needs to be number 1. GCI has been at the top on my list since The Wilcat, and I have liked all their coasters I have ridden. The Lightning Racers are my favorite. I have trip planned to Dollywood at the end if May to ride Thunderhead, and TT. I am looking forward to it. If the buzz is any indication it will probably end up being my new #1.

I'm looking forward to this weekend. I have no doubt I will love Thunderhead. I have talked with several seasoned woodie riders who have ridden just about every woodie in the US and Europe. They all rave about Thunderhead.

It's almost a holy experience :)

Im so glad Dollywood got this....me, the coaster enthusiast, was getting lonely at DW. After this, I won't be anymore! yay!

What's disturbing is, this thing hasn't even really completely broken-in yet. What's it gonna be like by the end of the season when it has! Yikes!

I'll be only TOO happy to ride this myself this weekend.....but I'll have to wear headphones if there's going to be repeated choruses of "Rocky Top".

As for "top spot", the only poll I *trust* is the one that Mitch runs...but like Joe C. says, the only vote that really counts is *MINE*...:)

Yes, I do remember that from my lone trip to Pigeon Forge, all the way back in 1982....worse than "It's a Small World"...;)

Yeah I got a little sick of hearing Rocky Top. Luckily Thunderhead drowns out most any of that hee haw music you might hear around it. The trains sound nice, deep and rumbly.

^Right now isn't it the Russian version of Rocky Top for Festival of Nations? ;)

Can't wait to ride April 17th! (Unfortunatly not with the Acers though)
