Thunder Dolphin?

Ok.... My wife is Japanese, and I love the Japanese people, but the new Intamin at Korakuen has been named, and it is... Thunder Dolphin! .....HUH? This takes the cake in my book. Granted, I won't be complaining in a few months when I take a ride on this bad boy, but Thunder Dolphin? At least it wasn't named something really goofy, like Top Thrill Dragster. ;)

I don't know if it is a Japanese superhero. Doesn't ring any bells for me. I did a brief search on Google, and no Thunder Dolphin as a character. Perhaps I didn't search correctly. Hmmm... But still.... Thunder Dolphin?

Thats a "whale" of a name.

Japanese tend to name all kinds of things like this though. Look at the translations of the names of some of there WWII ships.

Actually, I am not nit-picking at all... My tongue is planted firmly in my cheek, but I think it's a little strange, don't you? Now, it would be spot on if it were named Super Thunder Dolphin Funstar, or Joy Pop Thunder Dolphin, or Matthew's contribution above. I love Japan... It is the land of Zen and sugar-free cotton candy (and that is exactly what the entire country is like....:)).

Peabody, I hate that term, but I always laugh when my wife talks about coming over to ride coasters.... Jet coaster this... Jet coaster that. Truly funny. Did you know that Steel Dragon 2000 is a "jet coaster?" ;) ...ugh.
