Thoughts after Holiday World. . .

Well today I took my first visit to Holiday World and I must say I now understand why the park holds such a special place in many enthusiasts hearts! It was FANTASTIC! However I mut say I did prefer Legend over Raven. They were both mind blowing however! I also want to comment on another thing. I was very impressed at the speed at which the ride ops were loading the rides and making sure everyone was secured properly. They were VERY careful and checked everything throughly yet were able to do it quickly! That is quite a feet!

I have to applaud Holiday world with how they have handled everything with the recent tragedy in their park. Their staff is in tip top shape! Infact while in line for The Legend today they had to tell this little girl she couldn't ride because she was just a little too short and some people started yelling and saying "What difference would that make! LET HER RIDE!" They just smiled and said "We have rules we follow for all our guests safety." I got soo tired of it I finally turned and yelled back! "These rules are in place for a reason! For our safety. Now if you would please shut your mouth, I would like to enjoy the rest of my day!"

Perhaps it was a bit rude but with everything that has happened as of late I feel as a coaster entusiast it is my job to stand up and support as well as abide by ALL park and ride rules! I can honestly say I have never not followed a park rule as far as I know. I am just so thankful to Holiday World! I was still able to get my ACE discount at the park even after everything that has happened! They have every reason to feel betrayed by us and yet they are still showing us the love and care as before! GOD BLESS THEM! Now after visiting the park I truly hope that ACE will oneday again be welcomed back for another Stark Raven Mad but whatever decision they make reguarding that I support them!

Again Thank You Holiday World, RavenMaven, The Koch Family for still being so wonderful! Your park is fantastic your staff is amazing! Thank you for caring so much. I know I can't speak for all enthusiasts but I just want you to know there are those of us out there who do follow the rules and do respect your park and others. I AM PROUD TO BE ONE OF THOSE! I look forward to many visits in the future! And come on already! BUILD US THAT BEEMER! LoL

THE SCARIEST PART OF THE RIDE IS THE LIFT HILL!
I understand how you feel about the park. I love Holiday World. I call it my home away from home park (6 hours away). Last years SRM was my first time to the park, but not my last. In fact, I am heading back this Friday for a few hours. I cannot wait!

When I found out I was able to go I was thisclose to crying I was so happy. There is just something so special about that park. I really can't put it into words.

I, too, like Legend over Raven, but by a very slim margin. I don't know if I agree with the Beemer or not though! I don't know if one would really fit in with the wonderful atmosphere that they have there. Truthfully, even if they never add another single thing I will still be back every year.

Yes I agree even if they never added another thing I still would be back OVER & OVER & OVER! I still think a beemer would work! But something smaller like this

or this

The rides are small enough they could just tuck them away and they could fit nicely! But whatever they add is fine! I certainly could take another wood coaster! LoL

Beemer & HW just don't mix...

I think something like

would fit HW much better than a HUGE Beemer.

Something like that I could see at Holiday World.

Actually those new Maure Shone mice would be great for HW. Nice capasity and wickedly fun.

The only thing about adding another woodie to Holiday World is how does one top perfection? (The Legend) If *I* had my druthers, HW's next coaster would be something like this or maybe even that.

A windstorm Jeremy??......with all of their headbangingly goodness??? I duunnnoooo

On an unrelated note, I like the second picture you have there in your sig. J-lo who????

Fate is the path of least resistance.

Legend is perfect? Not hardly. It has several moments that should produce airtime, but only one (sometimes two) is any good; and the helix is weak compaired to Boss. Legend is a good ride, but there is a lot of room for improvement.
How does one top perfection? Answer.

I'm also one who puts Legend over Raven.

And I'm looking forward to my Friday trip to HW!

I can understand Legend over Raven, but Boss over Legend? No way!

I'd rather ride a bench than the Boss. Those G-trains on SF maintained wood are just terrible.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Just SF-maintained? Have you been to Myrtle Beach or Wild Adventures? Those were way worse than The Villain or Twisted Twins have ever been.

I did not say Boss was better than Legend. I said that the helix on Boss was more forceful than the Helix on Legend. Boss was giving some darn good rides when I was there last week, but I still like Legend better.
I agree w/ the spinning mouse coaster. Is HW getting ready for a new coaster???

Raven and Legend, meh!

Id take Wildcat at hershey over those woodies ANY day or phoenix :)

Raven was too short, wasn't all that good. A couple good moments of air, couple good laterals, way to short.

Legend dissapointed me, the helix was weaker than any helix ever, and pacing was kinda slow for what I expected. Still good rides yes, just overhyped IMO. I do perfer Legend I think to Raven, but those night rights on Raven were pretty nice.... *** Edited 6/23/2004 3:19:11 AM UTC by SteveWoA***

I like Cylops at Mt. Olympus Theme Park better than Raven and Legend. I also prefer Legend over Raven....
