Things you miss the most

*The seatbelts on Timbers before they became all different lengths. What used to be my favorite seat is no longer because of the short belts there.
*The original crew on Timbers. I miss them a ton! It's just not the same.
*Chaos at MIA. If I could change one thing this season, it would be that the Chaos incident never happenned. It will never be the same for me.
*Berenstain Bear Country at CP. Ok, it's a sentimental thing...my earliest memories at the Point.

I miss the chance to experience the Euclid Beach flat rides at SHADY LAKE PARK, Streetsboro, Ohio. (Which closed in 1988)

AH HA!! I drive through Streetsboro whenever I go to SFWoA and I always see that entrance gate to Shady Lake off Route 14.  I had a feeling that there was originally an amusement park there;  now it's just condos.

The Old Elitch Gardens.  Big trees, nice atmosphere, and my two favorite woodies of all time.  Oh how I miss you Mr. Twister and Wildcat.  Great, now you've brought back painful memories.

I need a hug.

Gotta agree with you on that last point Kara, Berenstain Bear country was awesome!
I also miss, The Pirate Ride at CP, KCKC (always rode it), Mill Race, the days when pop was less than 2.50 @ CP.
One of the wierdest things I miss,is a long Magnum line at night.I love walking on Magnum, butwe used to have some serious fun in that line, whether it was everybody singing along to what the DJ was playing to bouncuing around beach balls. I loved walking out of the park 45 min after close becuase i waited for that one last ride of the night on Maggie. It was like a party atmosphere back there. Hopefully next summer it will happen a few more times...

Definitely Boblo Island. Growing up in the late 50's, early 60's, a ride on the Boblo boat and a day at the amusement park was an annual summer event along with Cedar Point.

Edgewater Park, where I saw Bobby Sherman and David Cassidy at the Bandstand, and the Soul Train coaster.

I miss the BBQ Chicken Shack that was torn down to make way for Millennium Force, the sky ride that went from the midway to Frontier Town, and the Funhouse at Cedar Point. And I almost forgot...the original seats, lapbars and seatbelts on the Blue Streak.

Yes, yes, and secondly, more yes!  The line on Magnum was the best place on earth when that was happening.  I miss it so much.  I remember my first trip to CP, and everybody was going nuts in the line for Magnum.  Yeah, it really and truly changed my life.
And werd up to the CP Pirate Ride.  You will still sorely be missed.  :(
*hug to everyone in this thread*

Fighting for peace is like screwing for virginity.

I never experienced any party atmosphere in the Magnum line, although I did get the last ride of the day once.  Usually I close out the day on Raptor.

However, I do sorely miss the party atmosphere that used to exist in the Beast's line.  In fact I used my very first post ever on Coasterbuzz to lament the loss of the old, untamed Beast and the atmosphere it created.

Doesn't mean I don't still love the ride, though.

You can't spell "dishonorable" without "honorable."

As for Magnum line:

I still remember my first ride on Magnum.  I was eight years old, and this was the second summer it came out (I was too chicken to go on it in '89).  I rode it twice that night with my aunt, and we waited two hours each time.   I remember the beach balls flying around and electric energy of the line vividly.  It sure was a party atmosphere.  CP has now banned beach balls from line because things can get a bit unruly.  Yeah, I miss that all right, and I miss the feeling of being a little kid getting off the world's tallest roller coaster, feeling like I had just conquered the world!

Other things I miss:

Pirate Ride

CP Character Entrance Signs

The dense woods around Iron Dragon (don't get me wrong, I would rather have Mantis there, but I still miss the scenery).

Shivering Timbers (just because it's so far away)

EDIT:  I forgot the thing I miss most:  the Blue Streak before the "moderinization."  I miss the buzz bars, the lack of seat dividers and headrests, but mostly, I miss wooden levers used to operate the ride.  When I was a kid, I always loved to watch the ride ops use those, and it made me want to work at CP when I got older. At one time, Blue Streak actually felt like an old-fashioned roller coaster.

MooreOn is right on target when talking about the blue streak at cp. i rode it many seasons with the lever, running two trains, and checking the lap bars while going out of the station. it was the best coaster at cedar point before magnum.
Shoot-The-Rapids; White water landing was not an improvement.  The upside down house, and most of all Grandma's big red Coleman cooler; full of food, parked all day in the picnic pavilion!!

As for Blue Streak, I was always fasinated by that bucket of concrete dangling under the tracks that opend the brakes back up when they let go of the levers, funny the things that a 7 yr old thinks about

Tidal Wave. :(
-----------------
Tidal Wave... Sky Whirl... what's next... Whizzer?
Axis, Jet Star, and the old Cosmotron at Knoebels, sure Power Surge is ok, Whirlwind is kool (for a 30 sec ride) and the new Cosmotron II has laser effects...but the old rides were just soo much better...also i remember when i was very young a Chance Twister? themed Fireball or somehting of that sort, and most of all Drachen Fire at BGW. :-(

It amazes me to see people "missing" KC:KC.  Kentons Cove Keelboat Canal was a walk-on 95% of the time.  When it existed, no one wanted to ride it, now that it doesn't.... well...

I always rode KCKC!

Me too! We never missed a ride on KCKC and actually loved re-rides on it since the lines were always, well, non-existant. The drops at the end were insanely fun as well. We never rode the other flume though. Oh well.

I do miss the Elephant, rainbow, Smurfs, and that little playland they use to have with the tractors, and Scooby Doo you could climb all around over in HB. I wish PKI could find a way to return Thunderbolt Express and put it into Coney Mall somewhere as well. It's not the greatest shuttle loop by any means, but sentimental value is why I miss most of these things.

The number one thing is miss though at PKI: the Hanna Barbara/Fruit sippers!!!

Would they send out the train and check the bars when you went by? Do any other coasters do this now?

I miss Jungle Dans (i think it was jungle dans) at CP they had some great animal shows there.  They were great as a Kid.
Rails/Wild Rails at Valleyfair. Replaced by Mad Mouse, which is nowhere near as fun.
CP's giant slide, and KBF's Soap Box Derby Racers.
Definately Sky Whirl at SFGAm- the last of Intamin's Giant Triple-Arm Ferris Wheels in the USA...
