Theme Park Brochures Web Site

Hello all. I used to run a web site called Theme Park Brochures. I have recently taken it down, but have since been contacted by a few people asking for them to bring it back or to bring it back with their web site in some way. I may bring it back but I just want to see if there would be an interest in this sort of thing. These guys said the site was kind of popular, but I just wanted to get a feel for if its worth bringing back.

I hope this does not violate the rule about advertising for a web site (the web site doesn't exist right now anyway), so I do apologize if this does violate the rule. I just want to get a census on if the site is wanted back.

Thanks

Sounds like something i'd be interested in, as long as the reach stretches out to worldwide parks, not just localised to one country - that way people can plan their holiday destination based on the theme parks there - sad enough, i do!

I liked the website, and I occasionally looked at it, but with so many fan sites for specific parks, you can find a history of maps and brochures if you look hard enough... BUT... That was the great thing about your site... it was all right there.

I looked at it a couple months ago. It always passed the time for me.

If it's gonna cost you an arm and leg, don't bother. If you can put the photos up for free like on webshots.com that may work or have a yahoo site.

I like the site, I'd say keep it up... but have contributers update it more consistantly.

I really enjoyed the website. It was veru unique and well organized with good information.

I sent you and email Zimm, hope you got it! *** Edited 12/17/2005 2:44:12 PM UTC by bigkirby***

Your site was always cool Zimm...It'd be nice to see it back up if you have the time...I always liked looking at the old maps vs. new to see how the parks had changed over the years.

Big fan of the site! I actually have a bunch of maps and brochures dating back to the early '90s that I'd been wanting to submit. I'd love to see the site back in some form.

I was recently looking for that site. I put it into the web, thinking I would remember it... and it came up with some trip planner site.

I did a Yahoo/Google search for it, and it did indeed show your site as being the correct one, but I guess it ceased to exist.

I was looking for some old maps to do a little research, and your site was great for it. It made for a little nastalgia when I was trying to find out what year a particular park had what rides when...

...I certianly hope you bring it back, because the content of the broschures & park maps were great to look back on not only with my local park, but many other parks as well and see how they've grown.

Here's hoping it comes back!

I also was a fan of your site and do miss it. If you ever do get it back up and running I definitely have some submissions for you. I totally understand the amount of time and energy you spent maintaining the site, and I totally understand if you choose not to start back up.

Best,

i actually really liked that website i was lookin for it the other day but couldnt find it... haha now i know why
I liked it too. It was fun looking at park maps and brochures that I once had. It reminded me of the good ol' days before the net when I had a huge collection (boxes and boxes) of paper park media. AAA knew me all too well...lol.
That was a great site! It brought back memories from times when i didn't have a camera. Also it was interesting to see how the parks and the prices have changed over the years. I would like to see it again.

I loved the site also and even found it informative and great for settling arguments. On other sites I've seen people inquiring about what happened to the site. I hopeyou can bring it back and keep it in control financially
Hello. Yes, the site had many European brochures, not just US ones. There was some great guy somewhere in Europe that donated a lot of them for me. Some of the Walibi ones and others as well. I also had many UK ones.
Hello. I actually didn't get the e-mail. One of the problems I had with the site I got literally hundreds of spam e-mails. I would delete as many as I could, but my maximum limit was soon met and then I started to lose any new e-mail sent (that exceeded the limit). Having to go through a list of hundreds (up to 500 or so) of e-mails looking for 5-10 legitamate ones was not easy. If you have a question or something you can ask me here!

Oh, a question to all those who have a web site or know about hosting companies - who is good as far as hosting? I need a new hosting company if I bring the site back. The other one wasn't that great. I had the e-mail problem I just posted about, couldn't reach anyone at the company, and I was being charged 4 times the amount I signed up for (due to higher than expected traffic). So, if anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it. I'm not looking for a free one since I plan to once again have zero ads on the site.

Thanks to all that have replied. I appreciate it!

SurpassHosting.com is excellent. Cheap, reliable, and good service in their support forums or over email.
Zimm, could you email me eekstra1@kent.edu ?

I loved your site! I spent time there often times just remembering the past. I got a kick out of the PKI & CP maps from the past...just seeing how they've both changed, and grown over the years. Bring it back, please!

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
It was a great site. Can I send you some more brochures to update it?
I loved it! Always had fun looking through all the old brochures, plus it was very interesting. I thought it was cool to have sort of a brochure/map database.

Please BRING IT BACK! :) I've got a bunch of stuff I can contribute as well.
