Tie between first ride on MF, 25+ laps in an hour-and-a-half on S:ROS@SFA in the dark, GOOC at SFO, or my first trip to Holliday World. Ahhhhh.......memories:)

Everybody calm down, the coasters do not open for another fifteen minutes.
waiting in line for MF. realizing I was going to get on the next coaster. then getting bumped from that coaster because some people had jump-to-the-front-of-the-line-passes. BUT they let me and my friend ride front seat on the next coaster instead. yeah baby
Millenium Force:watching the trains fly by on their return to the station and hearing the load brakes kick in. It just made the intensity of the ride that much better. Then climbing that first hill was incredible, but yet, the steepness of it scared, but once i plumted down the first hill i was loving it. It was the best coaster ive ridden this year.
Steel Phantom: After ten years, i never thought the day would come when we all had to say good bye to this coaster. This was my first big coaster, and i remember standing in line for the first time and being scared to death as a little kid watching the train come off the first hill. And then when i saw the second dropped, i felt my heart jump. But this past year as i boarded the phantom for the final time, i got the back seat at night. That second drop was still amazing, and after ten years, the ride still packed a punch. I mean i thought magnum had lost its charm over the years, and i love millenum force much better, but i still loved the steel phantom after millenium force. And ill never forget that back seat ride plunging in the dark ravine down the 225 ft drop. There was just nothing better. This coaster was unique and a true winner, too bad it had to leave us. to me it was like wishing an old friend off, one that would never return again.

Steel Phantom: A Decade of Thrills. (1991-2000)
25 rides on the Timbers in a half day. Pure nirvana.
Millennium Force. After 3 months of terrible anxiety, running to the entrance and my first ride. Arms up all the way down the first drop which was just mind blowing, fabulous.
PKI and its steel coasters were my biggest suprise of the year. I expected too much from the Beast, which caused me not to adore it. SOB was amazing, I liked it more than the Beast. But The Vortex and Flight of Fear were simply amazing.

Coasters- a little slice of heaven
I had lots of great memories from the season. Getting in ten rides on Kraken on a summer day and making my last ride of the day in the front row in the dark(you haven't lived until you have done this). Coming into Orlando for the first time and seeing all the swooping green track and the purple tunnell of the Incredible Hulk took my breath away. Riding speed with my cousin in the front row completly alone, being blown away as I am sure all who have ridden it have on spiderman. Just looking forward to June now so I can go on my coasterquest trip. On a side note is anyone else going to do one of these?
After waiting 11 months, and attending the best official organized day at Cedar Point: Coastermania.
It was my first ride on MF and it was so breathtaking. The ride was God-like and the only thing better than that ride in the morning, was the one at midnight. Dropping into pure darkness was awesome!
Spending 19 hours in the park and riding all the coasters including 4 on Raptor, Mantis, MF, and Magnum. I also had my 2 best experiences on Magnum that day too. 2 straight windy, ejector rides capped off one helluva day.
I also got to ride the legend and his son this year. The Beast and SOB. They were awesome rides, and The Beast is by far the best woodie I've been on--as of now. :)
Well, since all that I've seen on tv over the last weekend was nothing but the year 2000 in review... I thought I'd might as well add to my own!
The whole year in itself was a great coaster memory! Starting from watching the birth of Millennium Force to crossing the pond to conquer some of UK's finests!
From the moment that I first saw the huge erector set scattered across the Soak City parking lot in the fall of '99, I knew that something really special was coming to Cedar Point. I was hooked! I found myself surfing to the webcam at cedarpoint.com several times a day, saving every article that I could find on it, and talking about it until I was blue (that's MF's shade of blue) in the face!! Then came that magical day at Coastermania, that I soared 310' to the clouds! This truly was the most memorable.
Second, was all of the fellow buzzer's and pointer's that I met and befriended through all of my park visits. Kennywood preview day, I met Jeff and Stephanie, sadly, only at the end of the day did I meet them, on my way back to the car, therefore missing out on their "virgin" experience of Kennywood! Then there was Coastermania, where I met a whole gaggle of you!
Thirdly, my first experience on a CCI (The Villain) was truly an etherial experience, if only I could say the same thing for it's resident park.
And finally, was my trip across the pond to the UK. Sadly, we picked the wettest day to visit Alton Towers, but I managed to take-on Hex, Black Hole, Oblivion (not what it's cracked up to be) and Nemisis (it's all that!).
2000 was truly a great year for my coasting experience. 2001 is promising to be a pretty good year too, as I'm hammering out plans to extend a business trip to SoCal in April, and a vacation to New England.
Look for me in 2001 lurking at my usual haunts: Kennywood & Cedar Point!

My most memorable experience this year was one that many others have chosen, my first ride on the Force. There was a light rain, and it was at dusk. The clouds were really starting to look nasty, and after waiting 1 1/2 hours I was afraid my friend and I were not going to be able to ride. We got into the station, and the suspense was building. I really love that station, as there are not many people in there (just enough to fill up the train), there is that cool alien music, and some neat lightning effects. Then the gates slowly swing open, and the train sits there waiting for you to climb in. You zoom out of the station and get on that steep elevator lift. I was sitting on the left side, my friend on the right, and we just looked at each other and wondered, "Why are we doing this?" Once we got about 1/2 way up, the lift speed increases even MORE! I looked over the left side of the train. Big mistake. All I could see was water. We got to the top of the hill, and braced ourselves for the longest drop in coaster history. That drop is amazing. My legs sort of got numb, and then we zoomed into the overbanked turn. I was expecting more of a unique feeling from that turn, but it just seemed like any other turn we were going so fast. No matter, soon we were up the floater hill. The lights had come on in the park at this point, and the light drizzle combined with the lights at dusk made for a truly memorable view at the top of the floater hill. We then went on to the island and navigated the pretzel-turnaround. At this point, everyone on the train had their arms up. I mean EVERYONE. We headed back towards the station, zoomed by the line, and got some serious air on the bunny hop. We then hit the brakes, and the whole train started cheering. We got back to the unloading station and everyone was yelling, screaming, giving high 5's, etc. That single experience was probably one of the best (if not THE best) memory of the entire year for me,挀漀愀猀琀攀爀ⴀ爀攀氀愀琀攀搀 漀爀 渀漀琀⸀ഀഀഀ ⨀⨀⨀ 吀栀椀猀 瀀漀猀琀 眀愀猀 攀搀椀琀攀搀 戀礀 倀漀瀀瀀礀䈀爀漀匀刀 漀渀 ⼀㈀⼀㈀ ⸀ ⨀⨀⨀
My memories include joining A.C.E. Although I only made it to a few parks this year. Cedar point, Six Flags ohio, and Six Flags St. Louis and of course my home park of Six Flags Great America. Meeting new friends, and planning trips to other parks for this year
2000 was very memorable.
As I did so many coasters in a 3 month period but for some reason I cannot remember the 1st drop on Millennium Force.
I remember the rest of the ride especially the lift but that's it.
The Beast at Pki was excellent, much better then the anticipated SOB,and Superman at SFO was a complete disappointment.I thought the ride would be much more thrilling and longer.
The coaster which is awesome and deserves more recognition then it gets is Outer Limits at Pki.
takes you by surprise and intense!
I think this year will be great with Talon (Im there opening day!)and Hypersonic.
Finally I am gonna conquer Alpengeist,Apollo's Chariot and Volcano.

Mine would have to be cruising over that awesome third hill of Superman: Ride of Steel at SFA and having the best airtime experience of my life.

On the Steel Phantom. Front seat in the dark. No other coaster can compare. But Kennywood is reenginering it. I was also scared to death the first time I was standing in the que.
