There is no park that I want to hit for just one coaster(unless the park only has one coaster...).
Never heard of Monhegan Sun (I read your original post as "going to Monhegan [on Sunday]...). Since another hobby of my wife and mine is visiting light houses, I just assumed Monhegan Island, ME.
As for the lobster... being a native Pennsylvanian, I have often contemplated taking orders for lobster stew and lobster rolls from family and friends, loading coolers into the car, and making the 16 hr round trip up to Wells and back (just for the hell of it).
STILL... Canobie Lake's Cannon Ball (plus the fact that Canobie Lake is a great traditional park), Funtown's Excalibur, and Lake Compounces Boulderdash and Wildcat would be enough to draw me back to New England... even with out considering a visit to SFNE. *** Edited 5/13/2004 3:35:27 PM UTC by SLFAKE***

rdreaming - I wouldn't make an assumption on SFNE's attendence and the effect of SROS's closure on a single day. But I hope crowds are light so you can enjoy the woodies
Hehe, good point. Say a prayer to the wood coaster gods for me. :)
There are some questions I have that I don't know the answers to that would help with speculation on how this would affect attendance. How much is SFNE a "destination" park as opposed to a "regional" park? I would assume a "destination" park would be more hurt by a signature ride being closed then a "regional" park. If it's a regional park, I'd assume the coasters they have plus the waterpark (an important plus) will keep drawing them in.
Regardless, I won't lie. I WANT it to affect (effect? I never remember which) attendance so that Superman can get reopened as quickly as possible.
As for how each of our plans are changing, I'm cancelling my second night's hotel reservation on Sunday night because I feel it's likely we'll be driving home early with Superman closed. Having been to SFNE last year and been on Superman and seen the rest of what the park has to offer, I probably would have cancelled my SFNE visit altogether except that I need to get my Six Flags season pass processed there. (Back when I got it, it was cheap plus I'd get to ride Superman all day, now it's just... cheap).
Also, I will not be drinking any Six Flags owned beers until Six Flags reopens all three Supermans. ;)
Besides with all the Cicadas looking for a mate, it might be for the better.

Like SFDL's customers many guests go to SFA in hopes of riding S:ROS....it's the parks most poular coaster & is probably the only thing that really continues to draw guests into the park from even the local population & believe me the GP there really complain when the ride is out of commission for any real length of time.

rdreaming - LOL...I see you're familiar with RRC's NoGodForMe. To answer your question SFNE is a regional park. As for that second day, how about going to Lake Compounce?
Hehe, yes, I'm an avid RRC lurker. And yeah, I'm doing Quassy and Compounce opening day on Saturday and SFNE on Sunday. I had my motel booked for Sunday night as I didn't want to do the 3 hour drive home with coaster head from marathoning the end of the day on Superman. Alas, this is a problem no more. :(
Poorly implemented special *effects* sometimes adversely affect my *affect*...:)

but SFA & especially SFDL don't really have anything of real interest or that stand out to enjoy coasterwise.
WHAT!? (whoa, thought I was Moosh for a sec)
One of the three existing Vekoma Flying Coasters, one of the best woodies around with Wild One, a very solid (I'd even say very good) woodie with Roar and Joker's Jinx.
Many parks would kill for a line-up like that without S:ROS. It's certainly 4 reasons I'd go to SFA if they didn't have S:ROS.
You're f'ing kidding, right? You have no idea how many parks would KILL for the coaster line-up SFA has. Heck, I'd trade you everything at SFMM but Batman for Wild One and Roar alone! Are you telling me that if you visited SFA and Superman was just closed for the day for maintenance you wouldn't have a good time?
People enjoyed SFA before Superman...they'll enjoy it while it's closed.
Sheesh!

Well that's just the thing that Dawgbyte II is talking about...with S:ROS being down for who knows how long there's really not much else to do at both SFDL & SFA
SFDL is a resort park. That is, many people come to SFDL to spend a weekend (or more) at the hotel or campground. Superman's closure is unfortunate for them, but it's going to have little effect attendance-wise. People will still go on their vacations and they'll still have a great time. As for SFA, that's pretty much been covered, but if you're not happy with six major coasters, you need help. Since 1998, SFA has gotten as many or more new coasters than any other Six Flags park. Honestly, stop your whining.
TCKR: I wasn't trying to correct you on a minor mistake, I was genuinely curious if there was something I was forgetting/overlooking. No offense intended.
