The Shaft of Terror discovered at last

Posted | Contributed by Taipan

G'Day, I've just returned from an "expedition" to my birth country and original home park, Gold Reef City. Here are the photos of what looks like the Holy Grail of vertical coasters worldwide:

Photos and more photos.

Yes Gio. is they had a contract for this, so this is thier last.
Did anyone notice the caption next to the more photos: Can anyone say TR:TR? And since this was done partially by Nauta-Bussink, it could happen!
And just think for $6.25 you can ride everything in the park too! :) Great pics!

Once and for all... this nonsense about Giovanola not building coasters is nonsense. Not one person has been able to show me any concrete press release or announcement. Until you come up with proof, stop spreading it as the gospel.

I agree with Jeff, When I first heard of the news that Giovanola was'nt to make any more coasters, I was highly suspicious, It just came right out of the Blue with No Proof whatsoever, and Why Quit when your first 3 Coasters have been an absolute success. Personally where did it come from anyway.
So Jeff is right, Lets quit this nonsense that Giovanola are not making any more coasters. I think its definatly false, and unless someone can come up with some kind of Solid Proof, I refuse to believe it, Even these pictures of this Ride Proves its False.

Anyway, the ride looks Dam awesome I must say, looks rather intense too, something tells me I should book a Holiday to this park ASAP:)
Isn't Giovanola pulling out of the coaster business? The ride looks pretty sweet!

That coaster looks awsome! That's one EXTREME thriller!
No way are they going under. Within 2 years they have built Goliath, Titan and Shaft of Terror. Also, the Tilt coaster which they are building in Taiwan(Don't quote me on that). I hope SFMM gets one of these. Goliath is awesome.
From what I can tell, this rumor started on the Danimation news forum with no concrete evidence to back it up. Sounds like rubbish to me. If parks are still willing to pay Giovanola to manufacturer attractions, I doubt they will turn the business away. It's not the only thing the company has a hand in, but business is business. Can anyone prove they lost money on the rollercoasters they built?

that is wicked!! but some f'ugly track
That 'f'ugly track' is called theming, my friend.
Yo arrowfreak....the one in Tawain is going to be built by Vekoma.

Hey
Im suspicious of the Giovanola thing too. although there is a small thing on my site about it it says theres nothing deffinate.

This is what prompted me to put it up.
"We do believe that Giovanola has pulled out of the market,"
I recived that from the head of the ECC.

Ive e-mailed Giovanola today so maybe i will get some answers

Did anyone notice that this ride has a different track design than their other coasters, its nothing like their previous B&M style track.
Oops, I always get them confused. Thanks Bruce, but they are building a tilt somewhere in the vicinity of Asia. *** This post was edited by arrowfreak on 7/9/2001. ***
