At Darien Lake you can park at the Park operations Bldg for free (right outside the park) Also, there is a Gate under S:ROS that leads to the picnic area. You can basically get in free anytime ;)
Where did the piece of coaster track that the monkeys climb on at Great Adventure Safari come from?
Millrace,
This is a good question and,i've always wondered myself.I forget what color it is,do you remember?

At CP they use the DT building as a storage/warehouse area. I dont know if you already knew that, but if you did just disregard this post.

CP in 2002, get to the point
The piece of track the monkeys climb is a replaced section of track from the scream machine.
dont know if this is a secret or not, but up above where you enter at PKI is a lunchroom set up for the workers. Also, if you go to the vendor right on the inside of Action Zone, his name is Alex Zech. Tell him any inside information! Hes the inside source for my website!
Six Flags Great America....
Did you know it once had a live circus act in the tent where the American Eagle cue is?
They used to have another set of old-style cars to drive where Roarin' Rapids is?
Shockwave is built entirely on an old section of parking lot>
There used to be two cable car systems - one from Condor to Funnel Cake Foundry near Iron Wolf, and the other from the Demon to where Roaring Rapids is?
Tidal Wave used to ride nearly up the whole spike on the return flight?
Z-Force and Max Headroom were the rage in 1985?
Also, if you ride the Triple Play, behind it, underneath the Batman queue is the park's central service corridor, hidden but slicing the park in two?
More SFGAm news:
Roarin' Rapids was named (and is still called by me and my friends) White Water Rampage (why they changed the name is beyond me). Also (I havent ridden it in a LONG time) but there was a big animatronic snake in the tunnel that would scare the manure out of people.
The 'Ricochet' ride used to be closer to the American Eagle's tent and was called "The Big Top".
The Edge (Intamin 1st gen freefall) used to sit exactly where the Power Dive is now.

At SFGAm, behind the fence that is around Triple Play, there are two trolleys, in good condition (does anyone know if these are used for fright fest?)
The Power Dive's queue is the exact same queue the the Edge used.
When the park opened, Mariott planned another territory, The Great Southwest, right where the Southwest Territory is. There was even a tower for one of the Skyrides out there.
Contrary to what I've heard from some people, Rolling Thunder and Viper never co-existed.

I hate noise in these message boards.
At California Adventure(even though it sin't my home park)the rapids water comes from the Paradise Pier Lagoon. If the ride is broken down more water goes into the lagoon.

- SFGAd used to run one side of Rolling Thunder backwards.
- Our 150' foot tall ferris wheel is a Schwarzkopf.
- Our Chance Round Up is now in its 3rd home, and AFAIK, 4th paint job.
- The park's Joust About, and Calypso, amongst
others, are still stored in the park warehouse.
- Our Arrow Hydroflume has been renamed 5 times.
- Old Avalanche Bobsled supports can be seen from GASM...which now stands in it's place.
- Shockwave (now Batman the Escape in Texas)
used to sit where Houdini's Great Escape is.
- Our Carousel is a European model and is run counter-clockwise.
Wow, I'm sure there's plenty more useless trivia and info where that came from, but I'm pretty braindead from our SRM trip! :)

Actually, they did. The year Viper opened, their queue line entrances were right next to each other and came all the way out to where the entrance to Southwest Territory is now (near Orbit).

One of Lightning Loops control panels is in the "junk yard" under Batman: The Ride.
The trolleys at SFGA ran on a loop of track that started up at the front of the park. They had low hourly capactiy plus operating in the middle of the street as they did made for a very nervous insurance underwriter. They were removed from service and stored awaiting disposition.
