The Secrets of your home park

Does anybody have any secrets about their home park? Not just ways to beat the heat, crowds, or lines, but weird stuff.

At SFGAdv, I know this:
1)- They store old bumper cars under the holding house for B:TR (see for yourself next time you ride and look down).
2) The employees of Viper often take breaks and go smoke down by the exit (you can see if you are on rolling thunder).
3)- Underneath Medusas loading platform, a guy sits in a booth and checks to make sure the floor unit works properly (he was never there until last season when the floor malfunctioned).
Also, they store old OTSR's underneath the ride itself.
4)- Batman the ride has two trains, one of which has the original OTSR's, while the other has newew padded versions. They were replaced when people peeled off the padding and cut it up.

Send in any secrets of your park!
If I told you they wouldn't be secrets. Now would they?
At PKD, there was a guy that was in a lawn chair underneath the loading dock, under the tracks on the ground of Hypersonic XLC. He gets payed for sitting there and just watching the coasters start, how great of a job is that. I guess he's there because it's a new coaster and there were A LOT of coaster problems.
ACE15, I saw that guy and he had an S&S Power shirt on. He's not getting paid to just sit there. They have their hands full getting that ride up to full capacity.

Some interesting facts about SFoT...
- Part of Shockwave's brake run is actually from the long lost Big Bend roller coaster.
- The cable railing near the Mine Train area was the Astrolift's (cable cars) cables.
- SFoT's train is over a 100 years old, originally starting out on a cotton plantation farm.
- More coming soon... www.sfot.net is a great site!

@ BGW in when your sitting in the final brake of BBW run...look at the bottom of the station house and there are like 30 extra harnesses. @PKD the mechanical part of the station house for the Avalance is under the final brake. Also in the middle of the volcano holding Volcano, there is a room that's door is always locked. When blasting through the moutain on the ride, at the part after the 2nd Lim's I thought I saw a window. Could be from that room.

If FoF got that great of a makeover than why can't I? *** This post was edited by Apollos Chariot on 5/13/2001. ***
SFOT:
-Footers from Big Bend can still be seen under flower pots by the "creek" going by USA & Looney Tunes USA

I know others, but I can't remember them now.

It's my opinion!
You ain't going to change it!
Why even try?
At Southport pleasureland, the bridge leading to the log flume was made out of the track taken from the PMBO when the drop was reprofiled!! Thats the best i've got:)
This is not really a secret but when your on the Iron Dragon at CP you can see staff picnic tables and a little shelter for them. Sometimes they wave as you go by.
That's called a break area. :) Some other CP stuff: what used to be the Pirate Ride is now storage for lots of cleaning stuff, and there are shortcuts all through the Disaster Transport building. But I can't say more, I've said too much!

First of all, the ride was made by Arrow Dynamics, and second, most of the ride is sitting not next to the river rapids, but way back, actually past Batwing.

Also, something of note, is that SFA originally proposed a 140-foot tall stand-up coaster to the county, but this proposed coaster was replaced by Batwing, a Vekoma flying dutchman.
Another interesting note is that despite Wild One having a storage area for one train near its brake run, it seems that the storage area cannot be utilized because it was never retracked when the rest of the ride was, and therefore it doesn't have enough layers of wood to line up with the current track.

At SFWoA, go up to the candy shop and ask for a free sample of fudge. While it may not be very big, it is free!!!
There is a basketball court at the top of the matterhorn at DL and there are lunch tables were workers can eat at the bottom in space mountain.

Not quite a basketball court, some cast members put in a hoop in an area where they prep, etc. for when the "characters" climb the Matterhorn.

Every day but Saturday and sometimes Sunday, once you wait in line, and go through the ride, stay seated, ask nicely and they will let you ride again. :)

My two cents..

Where did the piece of coaster track that the monkeys climb on at Great Adventure Safari come from?
