We were at HW yesterday and spoke the the GM. He told us that they were taking a 2 week break on the Timberliners. With everything that has happened this makes quite a bit of sense.
It also gives the folks from GravityKraft a chance to go home and get reacquainted with their families.

Kennywood.com is now giving the 29th as the day subject to change of course. I can't remember for sure but didn't Phantom's Revenge just kind of open one day without stating a specific opening day?
I have a half day on Friday and was hoping I would get to go over at noon to ride. Oh well. The second video posted on the previous page looks pretty awesome until the flat brake run, then it slows again. I like the faster top hat myself.
Not sure if it counts, because it isn't a public opening, but I just received a message from a friend at Coaster Con indicating that Kennywood gave ACErs a ride on Sky Rocket this evening.
I can confirm that. Each event attendee got to have 1 ride. Only one train was running. They had been testing it all day. Jeff Filico announced it around 10pm after our annual business meeting.

I did not get a ride I was not registered for the event. I was only there for the business meeting. That had it's own benifit. Everyone who attended the meeting received a limited edition sky rocket T-shirt from the 9th annual kennywood alumni day which was held may 16th.

I am not sure how true it is, but I hear that shoot the rapids is testing this morning.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

Shoot The Rapids has been testing for a few weeks now. Video is widely available on the web.
The ride has been bone dry for a week or 2. The boats are no where to be found. There has been no work at all going on.

Wow...how unprofessional of the park! ;)
If the issue is with the boats, and the rest of the ride is done, there isn't any reason that they would be there sitting on their thumbs. Since they aren't working on it there would be no reason to spend the money to pump water and it would be much better to not have a standing water to breed anymore insects then what CP already has.

Has media day for Shoot the Rapids also been rescheduled or are they not having one at this point?
I realize that. But the park is essentially saying, "Well, we really have no idea what we're doing and got in way over our head, and instead of come out and explain the situation and/or do something about it, we're going to keep everyone in the dark and let the ride sit there and rot without making any effort to open it".
Wait...why does that sound familiar....? ;)
