The Next X...

I know it's been brought up before, but with -X- finally up and running, what's your opinion on the next park recieving a 4D? Will there even be another 4D on this planet, after Arrow's financial troubles? Will Six Flags clone it?

It's like a soap opera...

X is a terrain coaster, so it will be difficult for SF to clone X

How is it a terrain coaster? Wasn't it built in the parking lot?

Well I guess parts of it do go close along with the ground, but I don't think that makes it a terrain coaster.  Terrain coasters follow the natural ground, unlike X.
X is built on a hill.  That's how it's a terrain coaster.  SLC's go close to the ground, but they aren't terrain coasters.  The terrain defines whether it's a terrain coaster.  Hence, the name.

If flags cloned it it would be one of their biggest mistakes...and that's saying something, considering all the previous mistakes they've made.
I am hoping SF Gr8 Adv or SF America gets one of these...It would be alot closer to home then.
Before Arrow sells any more of these, they are going to have to do a major job convincing the customer that they can deliver a working ride on schedule.  Announcing a new ride and then not having it open is very bad business for a park.

X a terrain coaster? NO i dont think so. Did you see how high those pillars or support beams are on most of the ride.. X can be put mostly anywhere. It is not a terrain coaster, not even close. just because its on a hill doesnt mean anything. Now if the track utilized and followed the ground most the way, then yes its a terrain coaster. but X on the other hand doesnt. so therefore its not a terrain coaster.

LETS ROLL!! This place is dead anyway!

Its a terrain coaster in that its built on quite a bit of interesting terrain.  The first hill goes right down a large hill side, and the whole thing is on a hill side when looking head on the first drop going downward and to the right.  I guess they could clone it but for this ride at least, original designs would be more fitting.

Uhm, footers on coasters are adjustable to fit whatever slope you are building on.  For example, Six Flags America has a Vekoma SLC built on the side of a hill, that does not make it a terrain coaster.
*sigh*  Its just semantics.  Its not a terrain coaster in that it doesn't really follow the lay of the land underneath it.  However, there are tons of elevation changes underneath the coaster that may either

1.  Make it not worth cloning

or

2.  Make it ugly as hell if it is cloned. You know how tall those footers are on some of the SFA SRoS?  I'd hate to see what kinda of creative footer work SF would have to do to put X on a flat piece of land.   Usually, when coasters are cloned, they are designed assuming a flat piece of land, and then modified for terrain.  Not the other way around.

Put one at sfdl please!

Well you have to remember that -X- is a totally new type of roller coaster. Six Flags should've realized that, and they should've known that with a prototype model like this, problems would come up.

Make a coaster ugly... Hey lets go to the Amusement park and look at the pretty roller coasters...

There will be more 4D's out. Now that the problem is fixed I am sure Six Flags will put one in more than 5 of their parks.

Um,  Jephry I really tried, but I didn't understand one word you just said.

I think he meant that people don't go on rollercoasters because they're pretty. I disagree. If a coaster looks a bit better, i.e. color scheme, location, etc.

Six flags is so cheap. It would make me really mad if they just built the same 'x' all over the country. Where is their imagination? They should take Alton Tower's approach. They took a concept like the flying dutchmen and themed it the way coasters are supossed to be themed. Six falgs doesn't do anything. There idea of theming is techno music blaring while your waiting in line. Where's the creativity in that?
Hey DWeaver, Jephry was just being sarcastic. couldnt you tell?  I see his point though.  but my point is who cares if its ugly or pretty or whatever the heck it looks like. As long as it gives great thrills while riding it. But on the other hand ive never seen an ugly roller coaster. They are all great looking to me.

As a matter of fact im gona ask Deja vu out on a date cuz she looks so pretty...

did you get that one too?

Ive got X fever and the only cure is to ride it forever.

also i think that X should be cloned and placed all over the states so everyone can get a fair chance at riding it. Instead of coming all the way here to SFMM to ride it.  i wish some of the RC at other amusmement parks could be built down here at MM so i can go on them without taking long mile trips.  that would be nice.
