The movie "Rollercoaster" is now playing

This movie is showing on AMC(American Movie Classics) which started at 5:00 CT and it will also replay at 11:00 PM CT. Just letting everyone know.

"SAVING THE WORLD BEFORE BEDTIME" Powerpuff girls
I've got it on right now and I'm recording it, I've never seen it before. CoasterPunk told me it's a great movie.

Army rangers lead the way
I'm watching it too. Never seen it before. Looks "different"...
-------------
"4 Seats are better than 2"
What's supposed to happen in this movie anyway?

-------------
What is life without SFA?
I'm watching it too. To answer SFAdocate's question in the movie, a safety inspector and a federal agent try to stop a mad bomber from blowing up amusement park rides and roller coasters. The Rebel Yell at PKD and the Revolution at SFMM are some of the coasters in the movie.

That wasn't too bad of a movie. I enjoyed it.

Did anyone notice the scene where the main character wins a carton of cigarettes at an amusement park ring toss game. Could you imagine that in today's Society.

I have never been on Revolution. It looks like a pretty cool coaster.

When I first saw it i thought it was stupid because it was kind of boring. But know i sort of understand whats going on.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't Revolution have OTSR's now?

I believe so... I've heard people say that the Revolution trains were "raped." Hah.

I saw the last 1/2 hour of it. Seemed pretty interesting. I liked the footage of Revolution. How can anyone not figure out what is going on? I turned it on and immidiatly figured out that they were looking for a bomb on Revolution.

Does anyone know if it's gonna be on anytime in the next few days? I missed it and I want to record it.

In 'National Lampoon's Vacation', the Revolution didn't have OTSRs either. When were they put on?

Home Park - Wonderland Sydney, Australia, featuring;
1) The Demon - 1988 Vekoma Boomerang
2) The Bush Beast - 1985 KEC Woodie (Clone of PKD's Grizzly)
3) Beastie - 1985 KEC Junior Woodie
4) More steel coasters please!!! Preferably a B&M Masterpiece!
From what I have heard , the OTSRs were put in within the last few years. National Lampoons Vacation was from the 80s. Can anyone chime in why OTSRs were put on the Revolution in the first place? It only has 1 vertical loop. Is it an insurance thing in California? If anything, the OTSRs would cause more harm than a lap bar.

I think that revolution had OTSRs and lap bars at the last time I heard
OTSRs and lap bars? Isnt that overkill?

Yes, OTSRs and a lap bar, and yes it is overkill.
So much has changed with the Revolution since it's opening, and the filming of "Rollercoaster". For one, the OTSRs which really subtract from the enjoyment of the ride, they are very uncomfortable. Secondly, the ride is now almost completely covered in SFMM terrain which is absolutely stunning to look at. Maybe I'm just a little too hopeful, but something tells me that the Rev will get new, more comfortable train in the next couple of years. Unfortunately, the OTSRs aren't going anywhere, they are required. *** This post was edited by Matchbox 32 on 3/12/2001. ***
I was amazed at how many stars of today appeared in that movie! It's been about 15 years since I've seen it, and didn't really remember much. But I was surprised to see a very young Helen Hunt! She must have been about 14 in that movie!

hey neil i was just about to point that out. I believe it was helen's first movie.
My favorite thing is the music. Must've been designed by a soap opera guy

Music is by Lalo Schifrin, whose work also includes the music for the original Mission:Impossible TV series. Although the movie was released in 1977, the score wasn't released on CD until this year. I just bought a copy last night... :)

I have been to SFMM in 1990, the year Viper opened, Revolution did NOT have OTSR at this time. This must have happened in the early nineties. Also note, that the coaster didnt even have HEADRESTS in its first seasons!
_Yes, it was Helen Hunts first "major" Role.
And now a question to the veterans: Did Anyone ride the "Rocket" the coaster that got demolished in the beginning? This looks like a pretty intense, old coaster. All i know is that the coaster and the "Ocean View Park" are no more!
