Cool. We can talk about planning to hook up this weekend. I'll call sometime Saturday....
No Disneyland? But DAAAAAAD!

Edit: or, as my son would tearfully say, "I'm not doing it anymore!" *** Edited 4/30/2004 2:44:07 PM UTC by Brian Noble***

Wow, now I kind of feel bad. Between my round one attack and Brian's round 2 assault we took Rob from:

"This is an example of what you- as an individual person- can do to help save a classic wooden coaster (for all of you that argued that there is NOTHING you can do to prevent things like this from happening.) Its a little thing that only take a few short minutes to do, but if enough people spend a few short minutes doing the same thing, then all of a sudden, you have become part of a group of people that is doing something."

to:

"Its also about the fact that its not really going to matter in the big picture."

We're heartless ;)

Well, you guys DO make some sense... that, I can't deny! Heartless as you guys are... ;)

I stand by my original action. I voted for a plan that would preserve the park and Coaster. Being a coaster enthusiast that wants to see a wood coaster preserved, as well as someone that thinks that the PNE makes good economic sense to the city of Vancouver, I put forth my opinion in a forum that was clearly intended for the general public. I feel like I did my part when someone asked a question.

Is it going to matter? I doubt it. The more I think about it, the less faith I have in this poll doing anything aside from getting a basic feel for what people are thinking. I don't expect it to be a decisive thing. But if it DOES do something, I will say that I did my part!

How's that for filling in the blanks?

All this heartless-ness is making me feel much less cute.

So I guess you and Linette have an open relationship?

or isn't she supposed to know about this newfound proclivity of yours...

I never doubted that. I just think it sounds interesting... really makes people think.
Dragon Rider,

Thanks for the update. I am thrilled that the future on the PNE/Playland is secure. Now I can take my grandaughter on her first ride on Coaster(when she is old enough)

I have been out of the coaster loop for a while as I have been preparing my rental house for sale and my wife will be having a kidney transplant in the near future. I look forward to being back on these boards on a more regular basis.

Lets' bring back Portland,Oregons' Jantzen Beach Big Dipper(1928-1970)Oregon needs some good wood!
Welcome back. I was happy as well, I am hoping to make my first trip up there next summer.
Great news to hear. The future of the Coaster was in limbo for too long!
