The first trip report on MM and X?

Since I am not getting to the west coast anytime soon. I am waiting anxiously to read the first review of X. How many people on here are going to MM tomorrow, and who will be the first to report back to tell us how X is?
I am going tomorrow, after we get our new car (sebring convertible). I'm going tomorrow cause I know it won't really be all that crowded
I hope I get out to SFMM around easter time. If I do, X would be the first thing I would do.
I'll be out at SFMM early tomorrow morning for a couple of pre-opening rides but I have so much stuff to do to get ready for the holidays, I won't have much time for trip report. I will give a brief opinion on the ride tomorrow and then more of a full report after once things calm down.

I will go tommorow, I'll try to write a trip report. Does anyone have the faintest idea what the crowds will be like?

I think I'll be there tommorow. Christmas Eve is usally a pretty good time to go to parks.
ill be heading to the park around mid day, which means ill get there around 12.45...i really have no idea how busy X will be..I mean, how much of the public who bought season passes know that X is gonna be open for them tomorrow? I havent seen any tv commericals or heard a radio commercial...I only know cause im always checking out coaster sites...So hopefully, only the handful of ppl who search coaster message boards and web sites will be the ones riding..
£200 says that you all wont get many rides in tomorrow, and X will break down loads and be non operational for most of the day

Knowing Six Flags, they will only run 1 Train, have about 2 Ride Ops in the station, and load times will be 10 mins each time:p:p

Also, I reckon tomorrow will be Chaos at the park, Six Flags are saying this event will only be open to SFMM ticket season holders, but what will the General Public think about this, I'm willing to bet that not everyone is gonna know about this, and when the GP view the ride running with people in, they will Run over to the ride trying to ride it, but only to be told they cant cause they need to have a season pass, and I reckon everyone is gonna get mad at the ride ops, and probably threaten to start fights if they are told they cant ride it.
It will be interesting to see what kind of system they come up with to cope with the crowds, cause I reckon people will still try and force their way into the queue even if they dont have a pass. Will be very interested to see the Trip Reports tomorrow

I'll be there 24 December. I got a postcard from SixFlagsMM on Friday the 21st announcing the season passholders eXclusive rides for the next two weeks. As for crowds? It depends on how fast the mail is and how busy people will be on the 24th. About 19 hours remain as I type this.

PaulD, thank yor for the bright and happy comments from across the pond. :P

hope that a riot or someone pulls a cleveland doesn't happen tomorrow

It won't be that bad, it's not like SFMM doesn't have 14 other rollercoasters to choose from. I think most of the GP will watch X run a couple times, ask a few questions and move on. 50 percent will have serious reservations about riding such an extreme coaster anyway. I can't get anyone else in my household to even think about riding it.

Wow, just reading this board, you can feel all the anticipation of this ride feel like its going to explode.  People will be on this ride tomorrow.  Incredible.

Paul,
I'm guessing you don't spend much time in L.A. It takes a lot to make Californians riot!
I will be there tomorrow as well. I'm expecting the ride to be jammed at opening but the park itself should be pretty uncrowded.
I've had X on my desktop for months now, ever since the first drop went up. I can't believe I'll be on it in 18 hours!!

Well Paul...aren't you ever the optimist! Do I detect a bit of jealousy?

I'll be there tomorrow, that you can count on! I'll be wearing a Tshirt that says DETOUR on it. Say hi if you see me.

I am happy to see that there are a bunch of people going out to MM to check out X....We'll get a bunch of opinions.. I agree with Bassistist I have had X on my desktop for a long time now too. Those pics from Twisted Rails are perfect. Thanks Karl. Now if I could only get out to Magic Mountain.
At long last X opens and it's good to see that quite a few will be there to ride it. I'm looking forward to reading about what those who'll ride it tomorrow think of it. I wish so much that I could be there to ride, and originally I would've been there since I've been anticipating it for months now, but sometimes, things happen that sorta change things...
Have fun guys!

Off season too long...can't go on...must ride coaster...

Paul, I think your scenario is a little bit unfounded. A select few of us got to ride Batwing for media day at SFA, and we continued to ride, even though the park had opened for business. The ride was not opened to the public that day. Was everyone who was excluded upset with us? Sure, I'm sure some were (and the Batwing t-shirts made us like marked people once media day stopped at 12pm). But, most people were actually really excited that we had ridden it, and they wanted to know what we thought of it. All it took was a waist high moveable fence with two people manning it to keep people off the path to Batwing also.

Until you get a parking space with your own name on it, you're still part of the GP.

PaulD: We Southern Californians are raised with Zen from the time we are 3 (maybe 2 and a half). We are mellow calm and casual. We are not the type that go to soccer games are riot if our team loses, or riots even more if our team wins. Basketball may be a bit of a difference, but it doesn't get out of hand.
SFMM probably has it set so that they will scan the season passes before the queue starts.

Well here is your first report on X someone close to me (my dad) rode this coaster..

The ride is smooth, has the kinda drop that would clear up any type of cold, and then... the ride is over... the spinning is a great thing but, it doesn't make up for the shortness of the ride..

People will be dissapointed with the overall ride, as my dad was he called it "suX" so I hope that someoen likes it...

It's not about having contacts in the amusement park industry, It's about knowing your stuff!!! With a degree and job to back you up :)

It's not totally out of the realm of possibilities that X could be a disappointment. I'll never forget mine the first time I rode SOB after anticipating it all winter. But I have to ask, why tell us now? Sounds a bit suspicious... I'll let you know for sure tommorrow. ;)
