This pertains to Millennium Mania (not the event, but the hype that the General Public and enthusiasts have for MF.)
Is "Dragster" really going to take the top spot as number 1 coaster? (In the polls and the GP's opinion.) There will probably be two distinct opinions. Most enthusiasts wil probably say MF is better because of its quality. (Length,Airtime) Besides, us enthusiasts won't be satisfied until they take us to Mars and drop us back down.
I think the GP will say "Dragster" because of its sheer height and speed.

Nemesis Inferno - The Pressure is Building!
My personal favorite will most likely remain with MF.
Despite Hypersonic's Intensity, it didnt beat my fav coaster at the time(S:RoS), and it will probably will be the same with MF and "Dragster".

Have you hugged a Beemer today?
From listening to the guests reactions regarding Xcelerator, most really seem to like it, bet there are some who complain that it is too short.
I figure that the response at CP should be pretty similar.

Are you kidding me? This is Cedar Point, remember? Every medium that the general public gets non-park specific info on coasters from (i.e.: articles in newspapers in the spring, roller coaster shows, etc.) mentions CP. Okay, now add the fact that this will be the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world. Then add the fact that it's new. Finally, consider that the media loves reliable sources, the biggest of anything, and the newest of anything.
Basicaly, even if this ride is not great, the media will make it the number one ride in the country. People will believe it's the best, if only because they are expecting it to be from all the coverage.
Of course, it well could be the best ride in the country. I'm just saying that it'll never get a chance to prove itself "legitamately."

Millennium Force has airtime? =)
Just kidding, I wont start THAT argument again. Now down to the point of this thread... I think that the GP will say Millennium Force since it has more substance than what Dragster will have. Sure, dragster is tall and fast, but theres not going to be just enthusiasts complaining about the length!
I picture this ride being #2 on my list right behind X. Xcelerator was an awsome ride and I would have been happy with out the overbanks so the length of #16 isn't going to be an issue in my book.
I wasn't even planning on making the trip to CP this year but when I saw what they were building I had no choice. Atlanta will have to wait another year.

Non coaster-enthusiasts : HOLY ____, THAT IS SO ______ CRAZY! IT'S SUCH A RUUUUSHH!!!!
Us : Eh.
I don't know anyone on this board who would say "Eh" to a ride like this, except you of course (but you have to think, I don't really know a lot of people here).
Blitzjade, don't start that up again......

This is the first time in an extremely long period that I've looked at a roller coaster and actually gotten scared!
Ahh.. I love that feeling.

I guess I don't understand what there is to prove. Many will come to ride it, many will like it, many will not. But the point is, many will come. And if that's the case, it'll prove to be a good bussiness move by CP.
And if a few dumb-ass-over-critical "enthusiasts" think it's a cheap marketing ploy won't mean squat.

I guarantee you the lines will be shorter than Millenium Force's lines, so long that as they have approximately the same capacities. People, at least with Xcelerator, are scared $h**less because of the launch and the top hat. Now imagine a ride twice as tall, accelerating to 50% more speed. People aren't going to be as quick to ride it, but once they do, they'll be clapping all the way back into the station, well to the turnaround on xcelerator, since the ride can't operate if it doesn't stack.
Speedy, this thing isn't going to go 164 miles-per-hour. I'm quite sure of that. ;)

50% more of 82 is 123, not 164...I'm quite sure of THAT. ;)
